No compass in focus mode
Played single player, compass works fine. Logged on to the official server #31 and the compass is gone. I have tried resetting controls, doesn't help. What to do?

It is not connected with control settings or server settings. It is all about your survival skill, apparently it is way too low to indicate directions. Looks like your survival is of no skill. Correct we if I'm wrong but you have directions indication when it is basic.

I believe you need basic survival to even see the north indicator. Make a stone knife and cut bushes then cut long sticks into small and then make imp rope or make a stone axe and cut down trees and do the same you will level up to basic in a short time span!

You're right, I thought I put all my points into survival, but see now that I went for engineering instead. Bummer. I'll start crafting like a madman then :D

Wise choice to me. Survival is a "self-exping" skill, it will raise to 0 to mid level in no time.

If you dont see this black background around screen and compass when pushing RMB, you need to change option Aim down the sights from Hold to Toggle and then it will work for you. Or just reset controls for default.

There are different compasses in the game which will give you the same effect, and they are quite easy to find too. Not an uncommon spawn.

Nope, the focus works, just the directions on top of screen that is missing. We already established my lack of survival skill as the reason.
