SCUM
weapon degradation and reality.
the weapons degrade too fast and they jam or malfunction too early. i have seen Ak's and Glocks fire 1000 rounds before a malfunction, and if you don't use a clean weapon for a few weeks you shouldn't need to clean it before you fire it.

I understand wanting to bring realism into the game, but this is unrealistic imo.

Can't support this one, I think it works pretty good. It's important to keep in mind that:
Firstly - firearms spawn in military zones quite often;
Secondly - You can quit from the server while staying in bunker or any other military area, rejoin after ~half an hour and loot every crate again with a decent chance to find new weapons.

Also, weapons respawn when the server restarts and it restarts twice a day. As for me, I don't use firearms to neutralize every enemy - I use them to kill players, so the degradation speed is optimum.

If we consider the possibility of such a change, we have to make weapon cleaning kits even rarer, which is not good IMO.

This is a Game and its about balancing ...
Or when was it the last time you charged a car battery with a 9V block battery.
Or when was the last time you made a toolbox out of a plank an 2 peaces roden rusty metal scrab?

So, dont come with "unrealistic"
Say, better that you didn't like it because it's against your lazynes

Of course it's not realistic. Along with many things in this fantasy/sci-fi survival shooter.
Sometimes realism has to be sacrificed for the sake of gameplay, balance and the vision of the developer.

The point of this particular mechanic isn't realism. Rather, challenging the player to manage their resources as any good survival game should.

If you just want to pewpewpew all day long, you can. You just need to grind to accomplish that goal. You can also play events and PvP without grinding at all.

What are all the players, that think this is COD on a prison island gonna do when they implement a reworked metabolism, sickness, disease, surgery?

I'll tell you what most will do; play private PvP servers where all the survival aspects are turned off. And that's fine. Choices are great.

How about letting the Devs develop a vanilla version of the survival shooter they envisioned and quit trying to water down every survival mechanic they implement.

You guys want a survival game or another pubg-cod-eft?

Every weapon on the island has been sitting in a damp bunker or in crates exposed to the elements. Sure a brand new weapon is more reliable but these weapons have corroded internals and after a mag burns off any oil it’s going to run like ♥♥♥♥.

+10 make weapons rare as hell, last longer, more weapon cleaning kits

I do feel like some weapons should be more reliable at lower durability. Glocks and aks should run without malfunction at a lower percentage than m16/mk18/1911/m9

Agreed. Old, worn out guns over 60 years old? Sure, they should fail more often. But the degradation and fail rate of the newer stuff, even at higher levels of repair, is ridiculous and needs adjusted.

If you leave a brand new mk18 out in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ damp environment the metal will corrode and pit within weeks, once in that condition oil will keep it running, but once that burns off you will have problems fast.

But, since almost every one of those you find will come from inside a dry, probably temp-controlled bunker or mil base from out of a sealed weapon box... not an issue.

Add Kalashnikov, aren't they famous and still used due to their ability to almost never jam even in terrible conditions?

Keep in mind the rate may be turned up for testing right now (that is what we're doing here), and may get rebalanced later.
