Is "adjusting draw weight" depended archery skill?
Hello,

Is "adjust draw weight" on the compound bow depended on your archery skill? On my main char I can adjust to #75-#80 on a newly made char only to #65... So assume it is?!

Cheers.

Adjusting draw weight fit's the compound bow to your strength attribute. Archery skill determines how good you are at handling/aiming with the bow and your strength attribute says how much power your bow can have.

higher archery skill also lets you pull a heavier bow regardless of strength. High strength helps of course but it's separate.
Adjusting a compound bow sets it to your personal best pull weight.

"Separate" is the opposite of what you said. Need to look up the patch notes but I think my post was correct. Wait a minute.

Okey so with high enough skill you are able to shoot a normal bow that is above your strength level but you can not hold it as long as a compound bow. Didn't remember it so complicated lol

Max draw with high skill level and low strength attribute on a normal bow is 75%

This seems like a good time to ask. What is the pounds to str requirements? I have been finding some 80-100 pound bows and am wondering if I should uses them (Str 3).

Edit: Just watched the Video. While it didn't specifically answer my question, some of the examples it gave, showed me what to expect. So time well spent. Thanks!

You should be able to hold the #90 bow for 3 seconds with basic skill and 5 seconds on advanced. With basic skill you should be able to hold the #100 bow for 2 seconds and with advanced for 5 seconds. If i read this chart correctly

Personally, I just go with it ... compound bows are the best but if I find another one I'll just test if I can hold it. With some aiming skill, you don't have to hold bows for very long so I always prefer higher draw weights.

Cool, thanks!

Going for headshots on a bobbing target makes it really hard to do instant draw-and-shoot 'snap-shots' accurately. It's very nice to have a few extra seconds of draw-hold to work with, to steady and hold your aim down for just the right moment to release your arrow. If you're going to specialize in archery, Otherwise, you're probably going to be missing a lot and losing a lot of arrows. it always makes sense to put as much into STR and Archery as you can manage.
