Will this change, in the future? I'm not a master of suppressor technology, but from what i've heard myself, some setups are much quieter than others, IRL. Not referring specifically to just MP5 variants, but suppressed firearms of all types.
45ACP is subsonic in general. It should be the most silent round in the game.
Well, russian 9x39 is subsonic too, by design.
You can get 45ACP supersonic if you drop bullet weight from 230gr to ~180gr. It's just pointless from a practical point.
In 180gr range there is plenty of good 40SW bullets. Go a bit lighter to 147gr and there is a good 9mm hollow point selection (9mm standard weight is 115gr). Grain is 0.065 grams.
Basically it's all about muzzle energy. For a handgun to be controllable and reasonably light at the same time, you have to balance bullet mass with bullet velocity. You can get large bullet go slow or small bullet go fast.
45ACP advantage is that it is a large bullet with a good terminal effect and it is easy to shoot.
All the magnums pushing heavy bullets at stupid velocities require some non-ordinary training.
Like ingame DE 50AE should be very hard to shoot accurately without advanced pistol skill and some upper body strength.
But to add on yes there is subsonic and supersonic variants already in.
