Lock Picking is one of the most broken things in this game
There is absolutely no reason, nor does it make any sense what-so-ever that you lose your screwdriver when picking a lock. I posted last night how i was upset you lose the screw driver on a fail. But to loose it on a successful lock pick makes no sense at all. I could see the bobby pin, it is very weak. But a strong metal screw driver? Really? If you wanted to make picking locks harder to do, then just make them hard to do. don't do thing like this. It makes absolutely no sense

Same reason your solid, massive, hardened-steel sledgehammer breaks and becomes unusable after a few dozen puppet kills. Their skulls must be real damn hard, ya know? At least sledges can be repaired. It's a silly, gamey mechanic to make valuable things wear out real fast so you have to keep looking and looting to constantly find new stuff to replace your gear. I can see it for obvious limited-life consumables, but yeah, a decent screwdriver should give you roughly 10,000 lockpick attempts, in reality.

Well maybe that is the case but there needs to be a balance in the game, you would just keep the screwdrivers forever without spending them and what then? Need for them would drop to 0 all that you would need is some lockpicks and you can perform lockpicking on anything. It's the thing about balancing.

Just saying a screwdriver wouldn't break on one successful attempt. Maybe make them last 3 or 5 attempts

The screwdrivers have charges man. You get the number of attempts equal to the number of charges. For red SDs that is 1-3 and for yellow it's 1-40.

It's the thing about reality and logic. Life isn't balanced. This game is sold on the reality not the balance. Besides, using the alternative excuse that it will provide more entertainment for the viewer by allowing access to things that create more of it...... Seems to me there are more reasons to follow reality rather than ignoring it.

♥♥♥♥ reality, it's hard and complicated. Game should be fun :)

Game does need some srs balance/changes. Screw drivers in how they function does not make much sense. For a so called 'realistic' themed game, its not hard to improvise the tools. Also, instead of having unlimited attempts of jamming things into the keyhole, it would make more sense to have to lock temporarily break/unpick-able based on skill and how many attempts. Could repair/refresh like how items re-spawn in the world. Player owned locks could be repaired on the spot by spending a few moments and its also a good way to tell if some ones been around.

But I do not have much faith that this won't change though cause it was some one's idea in design and haven forbid to have that change. Que the white knights responses.

By that logic virtually every door you come across would be locked as they are in reality. So what kind of game would that be then?

I wonder if you consider anyone who doesnt agree with your views, as a so called "white knight"? Might as well not even try to debate.

Yes and no, I started playing this three days ago. Have now found 9 of them, and lost everyone of them. Only was able to open one locker and it was empty. Maybe it is me, but my guy started with great lock pick skills on purpose, yet i fail way too much and then cant try again for a day or two cause of the screwdriver thing

For the lockers in the wild, you can open them by use of crowbar, you don't need to lockpick them, part, where lockpicking is a must, is kill box and lockpicking locks on other players doors and you will find that it's much more different that the lockers, on lockers you have a lot of time to perform the lockpicking and much more attempts.

Screwdrivers is a none issue my dude. To open locks u need lockpicks easy peasy. Look at a few vids on lock picking n it won't be so hard for u I guarantee. I Never used to even attempt lockpicking but then I watch a few Vida, overstand de basics, and boom police lockers is scrumbs, air drop locker is scrumbs only silver n gold give me issues but as with everything, practice. Even have a practice kit to craft for locks n bombs.

I made a practice one, now just have to find more screwdrivers. But unfortunately i can't play right now because that patch yesterday had a major bug in it and my keyboard won't work until they fix it
