Anyone having a GTX 980 Ti?
I would like to know whats your game performance with an Gtx 980 Ti and an older CPU which has maybe 4 cores 3-4ghz? I ask because I would like to upgrade my old 970 strix to an gtx 980 Ti and I couldnt really find something in the browser. Thanks!

My 980 works fine on a 7 year old i7 CPU, average 55-60 FPS in most areas, medium to high graphics settings ingame. Hope you have a decent source, cuz most of the used GPU market is as ridiculous now as the new GPU market- aksing anywhere from 3x to 5x more than the cards are worth.

Im planning to buy a gtx 980 Ti and its actually pretty cheap on the used market. People sell it for around 200-250 Euros (even the GTX founders edition). Before the big Mining boom, it was around that price, maybe 20-30 Euros less. I have a gtx 970 currently with much lower shading units, only 4gb Vram, 250gb bus bandwidth and less cores. Good to know how its running in scum. May I ask, do you play on 1080p and whats your render res? Thank you!

And do you dip under 40FPS with high settings at high intense areas? Like at the coastline for example. I guess at the city for sure xD (btw, you just have the 980, not the 980 Ti right? Because the Ti is around 15% better then the normal one)

I run at 1440p, and it dips down into the mid 40's sometimes in the more intense areas of the game, but general average is in the 50's. It's playable to me. I have the regular 980, no marketing salad on the end. 4 GB VRAM. Render rez is 80-90.

That is actually quite a decent performance.

I got one potato PC with a 970 and can play at 60-70 fps with low settings.

If you can wait, wait until September...prices are still too high, even for used ones.

Wow that's nice! I imagine it's even better with the Ti because 6gb Vram and higher shader units etc. Thank you for the info!

I am on i7 2600K, 980 Ti, 16 GB RAM and Win7 x64. I am also mostly in the 50's on high settings (clouds on medium and color fringe off, but render is on 100). It is playable for me.
Strangely, changing video settings does not seem to affect FPS much, maybe my CPU is bottlenecking?

Only some settings will affect FPS by a decent amount. For example: Shadow Quality, Post Processing Quality, Effect Quality, DFAO, and Distance field shadows. If those don't change anything for you, it's maybe the CPU which is bottlenecking.

Thanks for the info, btw can you tell me if you have those settings on "on" or on "high" I described above?

Yes have either on or on high. Except those I mentioned. Big city is unplayable for me, new city stutters quite a lot, but almost everywhere else is quite playable. It might be my CPU, it might be that the games is just not enough optimized. Dunno, cannot judge. But i read here that big city is stuttering even with those with high end rigs.

Yup, the city isn't running good even on the best PC out there... But it also "kinda" depends on dx12 or dx11 when launching the game from steam. In my experience, the city ran better on dx11 (normal mode). And idk if your CPU is bottlenecking. Maybe... I saw on bottleneck.com my CPU (intel xeon e3-1231 v3) will bottleneck the gtx 980 Ti by around 10%. And my CPU is a little bit better then yours, but slightly. I would say, it's not a big of a deal for you, unless the CPU is running at 100% full time. Then you will get very bad stutters. But, as you said, game running good for you, 50 FPS on high settings is great. I don't even get 40 FPS on high settings with my gtx 970, so that sounds like how I think a 980 Ti will perform in scum. I play on lowest settings, 90 render res, and I have around 40-50 fps in forrests. Often even less. Btw, those settings will do the work for you to give you more FPS, but those are also the ones which will change the visuals the most!

Last summer when I started playing the game, I had 780 Ti and the game ran absolutely great all on high settings - but it was v0.4 and we didn't have newer Unreal engine. Even the big city did not stutter that much. Now we have better visuals but worse performance. Anyway, I am now rarely playing Scum since in my opinion it's got boring.

I can only say the same... in 0.4 game was running much better for me as well, and for all others. It wasnt a great move to add new enhancened graphics on top of a allready fragile part of the game. In my case, I saw a change from -10 minimal frames when 0.5 came out. But they made some bigger optimizations since 0.5, and the game is almost running as good as before.

0.4 was for me unplayble to a point I decided to spend my time building a base.
Anything else was impossibile.
Going around small towns I got 40-50 fps with the lowest settings possibile, that went down to 15-30 with storm/rain.
Stuttering was everywhere, mostly on the big city but quite common in any location.

0.5 run fine even on the potato PC and it's SMOOTH, even with new clouds, vegetations, etc.
Stuttering has disappear.

So for me 0.5 ROCKS.
