It's pretty unique, but closest game is probably DayZ. Let's say DayZ is outdated past of survival genre, while SCUM is a new word.

If you want to know how this game is, I suggest you to watch some yt videos about it. My favorite are Loaf Lord, Mr Feudal, xxkickxx, OldManGaming1968 and Ye Olde Curmudgeon (of course 😄😄😄).

This game is unique. It might looks like some other stuffs around but you will soon realize it's unique and it will stand out in the survival genre even more! 😉

I've tryed to get my friend in, he sayd that don't really impressed from YouTube vids, than he's bought it on sells, joined, now it's he's favorite game lol. So it's depends.
Why just not trying out if it's even free weekend.

I think Scum has the best of everything. It starts with tiny little things. The attention to detail and the research on it are really great in my opinion. This is especially noticeable when it comes to metabolism. A sensitive topic because you want to combine game and reality to a certain extent, but after the first impressions and the sustained balancing, the Scum experience just gets better and better. If you like survival games, you are in very good hands here because you already have the feeling of being there in this world and of moving something personally for you.

For me there is a lot here that I have missed a lot in other titles. especially e.g. Fallout 4. In principle, Scum is similar but much better.Singleplayer, Multiplayer, an open game world, wonderful ambience but the best of all is that you interact with the world completely and don't just walk through it. Eating, drinking, tinkering, exploring, messing around to name just a few of the possibilities. You can also combine a lot. Communication between developers and the community is also very high. Feedback is read, suggestions are considered and just as you feel comfortable in the game world, you do it in the forum and certainly also in the Discord.

I personally have played Just Survive till the day it sunset, and 1500hrs of Scum and watched DayZ a ton too. Scum has single player, drone mode, events to do death match stuff without losing your stuff. You can learn the ropes that way. Multiplayer you should search for a specific server as there are alot of different settings for them. Yes you can build, drive too. Just Survive was a little more cartoon like then this but the basics are kinda the same. DayZ doesn't have a good rep with dev's for fixing things so I chose Scum and very happy I did.
