That's why the default loot setting quickly gets so discouraging. If a bunker or POI contains 200 lootable containers, that means only 20 of them will have anything in them, on average, and of those 20 items, a lot are going to be dreck that you give absolutely zero crap about. So if you loot an entire bunker and only come out with a little handful of items worth bothering to haul out of it... yeah. That's why I set mine to 5, and have enjoyed the game much more ever since.
Of course the masochists still dressed in rags and wielding a single-shot crafted pistol will throw a fit of horror at just the thought of that kind of thing, but i care nary a wit.
Oh, and the other loot modifier, the one for non-container loot. The stuff that just appears on the ground, on the floors of barns and sheds and armories, on top of or underneath benches, etc.... that one defaults to 1, and i believe maxes out at 2. The setting of 2 basically equals a 100% chance that every such potential loot-bearing location will have something sitting on it, every time. I set mine to 1.5, works for me.
Nah, there is no user-adjustable settings for any of that. It's hardcoded.
"Regular spawner" is for things you find just laying around on shelves and the like. "Examine spawner" is for items like pallets, lockers, furniture that you have to search (or examine) to see if they have anything.
Dunno, but it would be easy enough to test. Let us know how it goes.
Heh, i can see it now- loot-free public servers, where you just beat each other with rocks and fists.
Hmmm... should work. Setting it to 0.5 does work fine... so 0 should too.
Sounds like a fun event though... make people battle over a prize with the most primal tools. Should be a lot more fun than the usual gunslinging nonsense.
