Pretty good description. It seems like the devs idea was to slap us with total 24/7 fog for the next two weeks, with no sanity breaks. I think a LOT of people, myself included are going to take a big long sanity break from this game, until the two weeks are over. Not such a great experiment, guys. Baby steps with the tricky new stuff... don't bury us under it without even a shovel.
Oh yes! Please make it so!! *__*
Well said!
while playing this game "breathe"
Same here. I play on a 32" monitor and I'm getting a MIGRAINE ATTACK from this!
I play local and I can't turn it off via #setweather 0. This defeats the whole purpose of the command and fog is a weather condition.
Devs could you please make it ADJUSTABLE asap.
This is ruining all the DX12 discovery and the whole halloween update!!!!!!
But, can get tiring on the eyes, so if the weather can change from time to time, that would be awesome!
Couldn't see squat straight ahead, only to the sides
As for the nightvision googles not working with fog; That would just make the game more interessting (and balanced in some sense), since not everybody had those goggles.
At this point the game gives me literaly a migraine attack. It's something I do not wish for even my worst enemy.
There is a distinction between a technical issue (excessive luminosty of the fog and the fact that it can't be controlled on the server side) and an artistic change of atmoshpere.
I'll have to quit playing my local SCUM until this is resolved.
Good to hear you people have an ear to the ground.
You people are doing one h*** of a nice job, making a fantastic game.
Sometimes I find myself just looking at the little things like lighting, the way the weather effects play. And almost forget to run away when a puppet tries to steal my arms and legs.
But, that fog, man. I know from before, from other games like Arma 2 Dayz and the like, that constant fog and bad visibility, are not appreciated by quite many people.
So, I would say, on the background of the feedback I've seen both here and other places regarding the fog, that a change is indeed needed.
When people stop playing the game because of an issue that radically changes the game, I would say that is a sign to go ahead and reverse the changes on some fasion.
But, make the fog optional. Either with an "on-off switch" or some other means of controlling it in the *.ini files.
Other than that, I have had no problems with the game at all. What little I have been playing of it after the update. No crashes, no nothing. But then again, I quit afte about an hour with this fog stuff.
And I don't have a super computer either. A good CPU, but the GPU's are a couple of old GTX 660TI's overclocked to insanity, with gigantic coolers and a temp hovering around the 90's and it still runs stable at 40 FPS. And, this is weird, I haven't seen much of a drop in my FPS either, after the update.
But I've had only one crash so far, and that was when I closed the game down.
And the changes you have done to the city are just down right fantastic. Love it.
Way back when Arma 2 Dayz, I was modifying a map just the same way myself, and know how much work goes into making things look like that. It's super grinding work that eats time.
Keep up the great work people. But do take care of the fog thing asap, please.
Happy halloween to y'all.
