Wheelbarrow - Base Changes Thoughts
Pretty sure this is getting added next patch, what are your thoughts on this, do you think we will need to gather sand to make cement for the new base additions to make bricks

I read that existing bases (pallisades) will no longer be repairable, i guess this would be in 0.5 ?

Anyway if anyone has more info it would be appreciated

Not 100 % sure yet, but I think that the old palisades will be left untouched on the level but they will no longer be repairable and will slowly decay over time. That will give you time to move your things out, or start building a new wall perimeter around the base.

Palisades will no longer be part of the base building, we are removing them and bringing in walls that can be upgraded.

This will be after the wipe though right Bunny, i mean we can still repair existing bases until then ?

If not we will get a heads up to move our things

Think less about logs and more about planks.

seemed that the new walls use plywood.. plank+glue? Also ive seen some welding supplies. Is welding going to be needed for new walls? :)

That's so funny it's beyond hilarious. Google 'how is plywood made', and you'll appreciate the comedy there.

I hope they will make new base building more realistic when it comes to building so we won't see hundreds of massive ugly bases on the map anymore. If you are a solo players you shouldn't be able to build a larger base, maybe a 1m² or 2m² base or focus on locking the existing buildings.

Even for squads it should be demanding to build large bases, it will be easier ONLY because they have more people available but they should spend a lot of time driving around the map and gathering materials to be able to build larger base.

As a solo, it's very unrealistic and not tactically wise for me to build a huge base and maintain it. That said, even though this is a squad based game, I don't think they should limit what a solo can craft. The solo will think twice as soon as they are raided enough.

I hope the developers give some love to fortifications in the future. After all, that was the original idea and fortifications are perfect for a solo on a mp server.

When I said solo players shouldn't be able to build large bases I meant in theory they should be allowed but it should be very resource heavy so even squads would need to spend a lot of time to complete it if they want a bigger base.

If solo players want to spend 10 real life days on building a larger base then it's ok since you will have only a few people doing that.

that video that came up on twitter or RAYKIT OR wherever it was of the guy wandering thru the forest and came across that metal base, it looked really good but i hope we can build many of them and defences

+1 for making BB harder! it should be a status for big active squads

I just have to say that it looked more like a pizza oven mounted on a wheel barrow.
