Answer:
"No, thermal cameras cannot see through walls, at least not like in the movies. Walls are generally thick enough—and insulated enough—to block any infrared radiation from the other side. If you point a thermal camera at a wall, it will detect heat from the wall , not what's behind it."
There was also a Mystery case about a guy posting pictures on reddit. Can't find the video or reddit post though. He saw a black van in front of his house. He was sure they are watching him and want to kill him. On one picture the side door of the van was open and they had a huge camera thingy. According to the video i can not find or 100% remember right now the guy disappeared shortly after and the story way all over the news. As far as i know, at that time, the existence of Wifi cameras weren't publicly known at that time.
