Kill Box
so I'm kind of screwed on the kill box. Open golden unlock and what do I find an old screwdriver and a lock pick. no guns no nothing. and lock protection is overkill. no chance of getting that open. after 5 electric shocks you are broken. I've tried it 100 times with Demolition on Expert. I'm very good at picking locks. despite the . no chance of getting in there. turned on godmode and with lots of ammo I could get out of there. because a hundred zombies have blocked our way. I thought the kill box was properly balanced before the hotfix. there were 30 minutes left and no lock protection on the locks. difficult enough golden or silver lock to crack without this crap with electric shocks

also was die Kill Box angeht fühle ich micht verarscht. Mache goldenen schloss auf und was finde ich da. einen alten schraubendreher und ein dietrich. keine waffen nix. und das mit lock protection ist übertrieben. keine chance den aufzubekommen. nach 5 stromschlägen bist du kapput. ich habe es 100 mal versucht mit Demolition auf Expert. bin sehr gut im Schlösser knacken. trotz dem . keine chance da rein zu kommen. habe godmode eingeschaltet und mit viel Munition konnte ich da weg. weil 100 zombies durchgang versperrt haben.
ich fand die Killbox richtig ausgewogen bevor der Hotfix kam. da waren noch 30 minuten zeit und keine Lockprotection an den schlössern. schwierig genug Goldenen oder silber schloss zu knacken ohne diesen mist mit stromschlägen

Now they're working on the balancing (which does adjust for the number of people) to keep it from being a squad only thing.

I'm sure they'd love some detailed feedback (number of people with you, etc.) since you made the run so much. Some video would be even better, so they can see the results in action.

One thing I've noticed practicing the defusal minigame lately is that just having the bomb on the screen can tank the framerate by at least 15-25 FPS. Meaning, if I have 45-60 FPS during normal gameplay, which is not perfect but definitely what I'd consider playable (and I'd prefer that over 60 FPS everywhere on low settings), it can drop under 30, where the controls start to feel noticeably sluggish and imprecise. Obviously for now one solution is to just lower the graphics if you know you're going to be defusing, but still, hopefully an improved bomb model is coming some time in the future, with a smaller FPS drop and maybe wires that can't clip though each other (though I feel sorry for the artist and QA people who would have to be involved in the last one :)

No, not a macro. I just personally don't want to stop my game play and adjust everything for a minigame. I am perfectly ok with taking the free hallway and moving on with my life and removing the term killbox from my mind until they make it worth opening. I think adding an unarmed c4 and reducing the dam to 2 c4 for fully upgraded metal wall would make going in worth it.


the new basic version of the lock picking minigame is almost exactly like skyrim and therefore is just an minor annoyance and overall I don't mind it as small screw drivers are everywhere.

Ok so you aren't suggesting he's cheating, simply that hes adjusted his mouse settings. I'm not sure why this was difficult to say.

The C4 is still so OP it needs to be very difficult to get to. I have seen many different players solo as squads getting that C4 in no time and within 5+/- minutes.
Base building walls are very weak and again it's base owners 2 and raiders 10. :/ Especially since defense mines or traps inside or outside a base can be easily triggered by shooting at them with guns or just arrows. There is no protection at all anymore for base owners.
C4 needs to be really rare and difficult. IMO it shouldn't even spawn in every bunker only because you have a key card. It should be more of a lottery.

what about C 4, in the single play. I put 3 C 4 directly on the car. They exploded. then 4 grenades . and the car still had half the power. a mech I could not kill with c4 either. He’s only there to destroy a base. I’m really sorry for the guys who build the base for weeks. because some idiot comes running with c4 and ruins everything.

Defusing mini-game is fine. Its not easy until your skills get to advanced. Even then you have to know what you are doing. Unlike lockpicking, when you fail, you die so it shouldnt be extremely difficult.

The lock-protection in the killbox is way to OP. I only got around 10 attempts on the gold lock before I was basically dead. Had like 12min sitting on the timer and there was nothing more I could even do. Couldnt even get into the rusty locks because they have lock protection also.

My opinion:
- Take lock protection off of everything but the c4 goldlock door.
- Make the lock protection less OP. Around 25 attempts to death.
- Make the rubber gloves reduce lock protection effectiveness to around 40 attempts.
- Change how c4 works altogether:

Basically you craft explosive c4 using a c4 brick and detonator. Killbox gives you a c4 brick and you must craft the detonator and final explosive. c4 bricks very rarely drop in military mech areas as well.

Block c4: Crafted at advanced demo
Used for breaching walls.
1 brick for basic walls@100%. 2 bricks for medium walls@100%. 3 bricks for advanced walls@100%. Better skills improve damage, where advanced+ and 4 bricks end up getting you through two metal walls@100%. Block c4 is instant on walls so a player cant sit inside the base and repair to prevent it.

Strip c4: Crafted at advanced demo
Used for breaching locked doors. One brick destroys 1-3 locks off doors. Basic demo always one lock, medium demo 1 or 2 locks (coin flip), advanced demo always destroys two locks. Advanced+ destroys three locks. So even with advanced+ you will need two c4 bricks to get through a layer just like block c4.

Magnetic c4: crafted at medium demo
Used for damaging vehicles and mechs. Attached to metal targets by placement or an accurate throw. 1 brick + detonator. basic and medium demo skill majorly damages vehicles @ 100% but wont destroy it. advanced demo will take vehicles@100% to black smoke. advanced+ will instantly destroy vehicles@100%. All damage reduced if magnetic c4 is not attached to vehicle or mech. Mechs should take around 3 magnetic c4.

I would also make it so that the crowbar can pop open rusty police station / bunker lockers.
No survival = 10 sec working delay
Basic survival = 9sec
Medium survival = 8sec
Advanced survival = 7sec
Advanced+ Survival = 6sec

Lockpicking will still be quicker but with a crowbar you wont have to carry around screwdrivers/lockpicks or even play the minigame.

If people manages to do it solo, which they have and squads in less than 1,5 minutes - then it's too easy. Also what squads do is that they take turns having more than one lockpicker.
You're not meant to easily be getting to that C4 so I don't know how it's "too OP". It's called the "kill box". Should mean something. I think it's good players die from trying and it should really be only a few managing to get to it. Again - I also wish the C4 would only spawn in a random bunker like a lottery

It should be mentioned that the bomb defuse game is just a place holder for what will be a hacking mini game in the future.

It’s been discussed that it shouldn’t only be a room for squads. Solo players can clear a bunker just the same as a squad and that should be a primary focus.

If you have 5 people in a squad, turn up the juice on the lock protection so collectively they get as many tries as a solo player would. It doesn’t have to be a static killbox.
