Kill Box
so I'm kind of screwed on the kill box. Open golden unlock and what do I find an old screwdriver and a lock pick. no guns no nothing. and lock protection is overkill. no chance of getting that open. after 5 electric shocks you are broken. I've tried it 100 times with Demolition on Expert. I'm very good at picking locks. despite the . no chance of getting in there. turned on godmode and with lots of ammo I could get out of there. because a hundred zombies have blocked our way. I thought the kill box was properly balanced before the hotfix. there were 30 minutes left and no lock protection on the locks. difficult enough golden or silver lock to crack without this crap with electric shocks

also was die Kill Box angeht fühle ich micht verarscht.

Now they're working on the balancing (which does adjust for the number of people) to keep it from being a squad only thing.

I'm sure they'd love some detailed feedback (number of people with you, etc.) since you made the run so much. Some video would be even better, so they can see the results in action.

godmode? you mean you gave yourself the ability to fill BB objects? how did that help in the killbox? also you are dealing with a group of people who operate under the Machavellian principal of piss people off to the point they don't do anything about it. Their goals are not the goals of an average player. It will get eaiser or they loot will get better because currently besides the fact that it is there and there is literally nothing to do in this game, there is 0 reason to waste your time on a killbox.

Also, given how bad the rng drops are why would you ever go into a killbox for anything besides the c4 to raid? and given how bad the killbox is why would you ever waste raid mats on a not raid?

the answer is you don't and nobody with raid mats would waste them in the killbox for any reason.

The only reason I see this existing is a garbage disposal for loot. some of people are trying and failing for no reason other than giving away loot. So far i have seen 2 videos of people getting the c4 and only 1 of them was after this patch to make it harder.

basically nothing in there is worth getting, just enjoy the new hallways of free loot and delete the killbox from your head till they make it worth doing.

I have only made it solo once and failed the other 3x we have done it recently with a group. it was a nice surprise to lock the doors and do the gas throughout the entire bunker.... Thank you for sharing those examples there is A LOT of information there on how to do that now.

I would love to know how he is skipping the tutorial page that freezes the game and seems to pause your ability to take control of the wire cutters after it closes. I fell like every time I play I am fighting to get the mouse to respond to the cutters for the first 2 seconds. then its very slow this guy obviously has his sensitivity turned up to the max to compensate for the minigame's mechanic that makes the minigame so annoying to play". I just personally don't want to hit escape and adjust my game settings to be better at a minigame in a game.

Side note: Do you know where there are good tutorial videos explaining the relationship of the demo/theiv skills and you metabolism like sugar play in the mini game difficulty? I'd like to test in SP how to best optimize your chances...Maybe its like an MMO where if you stack buffs it gets exponentially easier and it may be hard at 90% optimized as 10% but if you get to 92% its like cake.

As far as I know the demolition and thievery skills only affect the time given to attempt the minigame. As for the sugar / metabolism thing there isn't any affect. Per Bunny:

Mythbusters would enjoy this one. In any case - that's all a lie since the only thing that affects the lockpicking is your character's thievery skill level.

I admit it. Going into the kill box alone is stupid. that requires teamwork. a praise for the boys in the video. But how he can defuse it so fast is a mystery to me. neither is the type good. or a freak who only does the day at home.

it can be done solo also, just need to be good at lockpicking or have great luck

The speed is a settings thing that gives him an obvious great advantatge. Apparently this is a wanted function of the devs. I assume posting the "trick" will get you banned as everyone on this form is already but that video is enough information to replicate what he is doing.

What are you talking about? Please explain this "settings thing" you are referring to.
I don't see anything hes doing here that is out of the ordinary. When i do these things i see the same things.

I can defuse this quickly. Once you understand how to look at the path of the wires it's actually not that hard to do it quickly.

if you watch that 1 minute video and cant see what he is doing no amt of me explaining it will help. Our controls don't move that fast in standard gameplay.

Ok man, what I'm saying is when i do defusing it looks just like this and i haven't done anything special with my settings. Are you suggesting he is using some kind of macro?

Your controls can move as fast as you want by changing sensitivity, but I'm assuming you understand this already.

No, not a macro. I just personally don't want to stop my game play and adjust everything for a minigame. I am perfectly ok with taking the free hallway and moving on with my life and removing the term killbox from my mind until they make it worth opening. I think adding an unarmed c4 and reducing the dam to 2 c4 for fully upgraded metal wall would make going in worth it.

the new basic version of the lock picking minigame is almost exactly like skyrim and therefore is just an minor annoyance and overall I don't mind it as small screw drivers are everywhere.

One thing I've noticed practicing the defusal minigame lately is that just having the bomb on the screen can tank the framerate by at least 15-25 FPS. Meaning, if I have 45-60 FPS during normal gameplay, which is not perfect but definitely what I'd consider playable (and I'd prefer that over 60 FPS everywhere on low settings), it can drop under 30, where the controls start to feel noticeably sluggish and imprecise. Obviously for now one solution is to just lower the graphics if you know you're going to be defusing, but still, hopefully an improved bomb model is coming some time in the future, with a smaller FPS drop and maybe wires that can't clip though each other (though I feel sorry for the artist and QA people who would have to be involved in the last one :)

I have exactly the same problem when I defuse bombs. the control system works with delay

We shall take a look at what might be the problem. Thanks for the feedback !
