Locked loot chest and crafted lockpicks
As those items (the crafted lockpicks not the one you found as loot) seems quite ineffective, and as there is a FP cost to each try, I'd say that maybe they should be useful in other cases.

After some personal testing, and for the above reasons, I think that nobody will use them.
And for what I remember those items will not be used in other craftings.

So maybe those can be useful with loot container like chest/drawer/nightstand/shelves/etc.
Those loot container could be locked! Is it planned?
Obv not for container that you can access just for a small amount of time (like crates in open field in bases with mech walking around...). But I think this can be interesting....so thievery could be a important skill to have.

In this case maybe we need them a impr. screwdriver make from metal scraps (that will be quite useless in lock-picking other players locks) to avoid use of the rare drop.

1. If you raid a big base, it is very uncommon that you actually have enough factory made lock picks to get through everything. At the point where you dont have those anymore, you have to use improvised ones to get the job done.
2. If I face anything but a gold lock, I simply only use improvised lock picks. I put my factory mades on the ground and only pick with improvised ones, as to not waste those on anything else than gold.

First my post was about crafted lockpick and not about raiding. But my english is not very good.

Anyway, let's talks about it.
In 1h of play you can get 10 boxes of bobby pins, and in 1 full session maybe 100 boxes...and this without considering Safety Pins.
After a while if you keep looting them you will have tons....enough to break through any base in your server with 0 Thievery without ever finishing them.

Another example. Let's say you lockpick all basic locks you found with crafted lockpics. In a mid populated server could be 5 locks x player, from bases, garages, fortified houses, chest, etc.
Consider you are a normal player that is not Houdini of SCUM locks mini game.
Let's say you open one with 10 try. So it's 10 x 5 x 35 = 1750 FP
Are you sure you will earn all those FP just to open locks?
You don't open all basic locks you encounter? Then you will chose which one is important and I think you'll end up using looted one.

Btw I will not reply to base raiding as this is not my point and I don't care about that capture the flag mechanics.

So my point is to give all that stuff that to me it's useless a second life, another use.

And having locked loot container is something that will change the player style...you will not rush through each house of a town looting everything you can, but you carefully decide what to pick and what not.
Maybe a locked container could have better loot.
I really like this suggestion, as it would make lock-picking a relevant feature for SP. As it is now, I only play SP and I've never had to, or "gotten to" pick a lock. I'd love for some high-end loot to be lock-pick-locked, as it were.

Another reason people will use them
Is that lock picks are rare.

It doesnt matter how many you loot in an hour.

Other than that your idea is decent. But first they need to remove the FP cost of lockpicking.

Yes you're right. This could bring lockpicking in SP too.

Dear Devs, make a lock unlockable for 1 days after 10 tries or put other limits, but remove FP cost!!
