After the basic repair, all stop at 50%

That's the maximum amount of durability you can achieve for puppet clothes.

Would be cool if there was an advanced sewing kit that could repair them to 100%, Maybe it could require advanced skill. Just a thought.

Nah, they should be rotting, you can't stitch rotting cloth and not have it tear again.

Correction, its the maximum amount of durability you can achieve on ANYTHING that has gone under 20% durability.

Which is a bit annoying.

Or was that fixed last patch?

In defense of a certain vestige of realism in the whole clothing repair business, if a piece of clothing has be damaged/torn/worn/rotted/ripped to the point where it's basically little more than rags falling off you (anything under 20%), should you be able to just whip out some magical super-duper sewing kit and make it runway-ready for Paris again lickety-split? Um, no. It's good the way it is. Go find another pair of pants.

Well, I got used to it by now. As far as I'm concerned, all puppet clothing is useless for everything but gaining engineering or crafting sand blocks. I dont really care either way.

My post wasnt really about puppet clothing or even items. My post was about the fact that, atleast before 0.4 - everything that dropped below 20% could never again go above 50%. THATS not logical at all. With the right skills and effort - pretty much everything can be restored back to its original glory.

Maybe except for puppet clothing.

Nobody searches puppets anymore. For what ? Trash??
Smelly Inferno Aug 26, 2020 @ 3:52pm
It would be nice if there was at least a chance that puppets would drop some clothes that were actually usable. Like Yuma said. I dont even bother searching puppets anymore. Even if you repair something to 50% in 20 min it's lost most of the durability again.

but at the same time, puppet clothing is going to be wrecked, maybe durability repair based on how high your engineering skill is?

Puppets really have become irrelevant now. Before, they had a chance of dropping some good items, which was removed, or you could at least fix up their clothes, which was removed, and they used to attack in higher numbers in the wild, now it's just one or two.

How about at least a chance of dropping some good loot, just a small chance, maybe a 5% chance they will drop some ammo or something other than junk loot like bolts or wire, or maybe a slight chance they have some clothing on them that is slightly above 20% condition.

Excellent idea! I too would like to see this implemented. Add a minimum amount of interest to actually killing and looting them again.

They do drop ok loot from time to time, mainly attachments, ammo and threads for making improvised sewing kits. I do agree that the 5 % chance for getting something better would be good, but I have to discuss it with the rest of the team before possible implementation.

Well, the OP asked about the puppet clothes, so I don't see the problem here :D

Realistic would be that the maximum percentage would drop every time you repair a piece of cloth. Lower drop would be, the higher the skill is. Zombie clothes would have a random max clothes percentage. This would encourage people to still search zombie corpses.
