Gifts from the drones?

I got my first gift dropped from a drone today. It was a shotgun and 7 9mm rounds. Fame was only 116. Does anyone know if there is a correlation between fame or some other in game stat, and the likelihood of receiving a gift? I've had fame as high as low 300's and cannot remember getting a gift dropped from the drone.

Neat, I've never been gifted that I'm aware of either. ...though I have to admit that I do take potshots at them quite often expecting them to drop some kind of salvage - at least scrap metal pieces if nothing else.

It's mentioned in the design document that companies would sponsor prizes and such for famous/infamous prisoners. It is also suggested that there would be periodic supply drops. I figured stuff like that is still intended, just not implemented yet as it fits the whole reality TV game show idea perfectly and is a common mechanic in modern games.

sorry I would not know since sunday our server had a flying hacker on it and he killed me soo many times my fame is like -200 neat but really not to worryed since I am sure more wipes are coming :)

Yes, I got my gift. It came in the form of an 762x59 bullet to the dome. I have my drone to thank for giving my position away.

When I say I was gifted a shotgun, I did not mean the drone literally dropped a box with a bow wrapped around it guys. I just decided to check my inventory and in the vicinity there was a shotgun and the 9mm rounds. I doubt I was lucky enough to randomly come across these in the middle of a field, but that is a possibility.

same here, I attack them then I piss right infront of it.. Mostly when I start to do poop it flys away..
