Locks only need to be "functional" if there's no driver in the vehicle (i.e. it is "turned off"). The rest of the time (it's "on" or someone's sitting in the driver seat) they should not apply.
a simple solution? add a lock for the car trunk/boot so a car has two locks.
1. a lock for the car doors (basically)
2. a lock for the car storage trunk/boot

No this wouldnt work, since I dont want to get killed and then my car stolen. Because if this happenes now, the car is at least still locked and the person would need to lockpick it. No, I just want to grant the option to let a person ride shotgun or in the back. Nothing else.
