Building Base directly on the BIG wall

Hello all,
I just started the game and now, I want to build my first base. I saw some base build directly on the big wall, sorrunding the island.

But when ever I try to build a base / wooden Palisade on th wall, the palisade turns red.
Only if i move away from the wall a bit, it turns blue. Why can*t i build directly next to a wall, but other player can?
I am not in the radius of another players Flag.

you can't anymore, or only on private server with basebuilding area modified

ah so this bases on the wall are build before some Game Update / fix.

How do you even remove or edit the basebuilding areas?

It's a server setting for private server owners.

?? I was able to do so on Official Server 2 weeks ago, was this just patched recently?

In the beginning, if u went too close to a wall you got a warning, and going too close would lead to the explosion of your BCU / Suicide. Obviously it was never intended to build on top of the wall. But there are lots of other neat locations.

I am a server owner and i don't see this option honestly. Unless a glanced over it.
