Bomb defuse mini game feedback.
Mini game is cool and I like it, but 6 seconds just isn’t enough. If you get easy wires you can do it in 5.5 seconds, but that seems to be rare. I’m not expecting it to be easy but has to be realistic chance for someone to solve the mini game. The green lights are almost yellow and the maze of wires paired with a 6 second timer makes it unrealistic to even attempt to play.

why is there a timer at all and why does it bow up after the timer

does your charictar like to press on the mine before defusing it

like let me just put one foot on it and then look at the wires


the mini games needs to be a puzzle and if you cut the wrong wire it blows the timer just takes away from the emershion a better more realistic mini game is required one that is more complicated but has no timer



maybe have allot more wires and only one is the right one and if you have high demolishion it will grey out some of the wrong choices but idk

We ended up with a success rate of about 9 out of 10 with max skill. Its quite possible with some practice. We also looked for patterns, but so far havent really found any.

However, I'm not sure its realistic, and bombs and mines are kind of OP anyway... so maybe a few changes?

With lag on a high pop server by time game even opens .5 seconds has passed. It will take about 1-2 seconds for your brain to register the game being opened and have identified all green lights vs yellow lights. After you identified the green lights (lime green) you now have to trace 3 of them and then still cut them. So would you agree that you have about 3.5-4 seconds with human delay to beat this mini game?

With the removal of the alarms mines are powerful. They are all over the place, and I am ok with that but when I do see them (about 5% of the time) I would like to be able to disarm them with any character and not have a special bomb defuse alt that has saved up FP. What would be the in between lines? Be easier to disarm for anyone but to removing the mine and keep it you would need a demo guy to defuse it.

I have to agree with the other guy the timed system isn't that great. I rather have a puzzle with a small bit of luck.

I didnt say I disagreed. Just said what success rate we managed to end up with. But yeah, its not easy.

I prefer to either drive over mines or shoot them, as as you having to bring a demolition alt with FP is just not happening.

I kinda want a minesweeper in the game as well.

It is a bit hard at the moment, I agree. We will have some thing changed in regards to the bomb defusal minigame.

I thought the time limit was too short, even at medium demolition - which would mean I'm good at it, albeit not a master - I only had 4 seconds and in that time I barely got a chance to look at what's going on, let alone try disarm anything.

I think the time should be increased a lot with your skill level. Instead of like, 2,4,6 seconds it should be more like 2, 20, 60. A master will disarm it easily whereas a total inept bomb noob can only try to luck out.

Or just generally make the wires different color and harder to decipher it, just give more time to do it.

Time based puzzles are not a good things in mp game.
1. It is dependant of lag and freezes (they are abundant now and will be in future in high pop servers)
2. it gives too good edge and oppurtunity for scripters who can make macros.
3. every group has some savant who can perfect 100% every minigame but more casual gamers will have no way against them . (its same it used to be for like locks- for groups they do not exist and they can hack them in 10 seconds but for casual solo they are impossible to do.
