Gas cans take too much space
Anyone else's think gas cans take way too many inventory slots?

The first time I found one I tried putting it in my backpack and it was just like, nope.

I think that's fair though, you are forced to carry it in hand if you want to use it. I sure as hell wouldn't go hiking through the woods with a full can of gas in my backpack.
Yeah true but it can barley fit into a quad. That is not realistic. You should be able to carry a can or two external to your vehicle without taking up storage space for other items. At least that is my opinion.

When I first saw them I also thought they'd be too huge.

Though, meanwhile I think it's one way to make hoarding of that precious good at least a little more difficult.

we just need different can sizes...
It's not that you shouldn't be able to put it in a backpack. I get that. What I am saying is it shouldn't take over half the inventory of a Quad to transport it. To hold on to it for more than one use makes it impractical for looting efficiency.

20L canister is quite large compared to quad/backpack storage in real life, but we'll be sure to check out the situation and tweak the sizes a bit if needed. Thanks for the comments guys!

The best way to deal with it would be by weight rather than size. If you place a pair of binoculars, an apple, a helmet, a hat, a pair of socks and a gas next to each other in an inventory you would soon see that size is pretty unrealistic for many items. Make it the same size as a smallish rucsack and a weight of about 15kg should do it (I googled the weight for 20L ).

If your Hiking Backpack offers like 70l volume/space ... you should get at least 2 Gas Cans into it ?

The size is fine. Let the devs focus on more important things.

I think, that the size is fine...but I would opt in for some external attachment points on cars and quads...for jerry cans, backpacks, log bundles...everything one would attach externally in real life too... and have us put a complete, ungutted deer on the hood, for safer gutting in the base instead of the field/woods...
That would work for me.As it stands today a single Jerry Can takes 2/3 of the quad storage. That is ridiculous. I am totally ok with having to hand carry a can if I can store it in a vehicle and not take all the cargo capacity.

what about letting us craft smaller containers from our kills.
from a puppet or human kill we could make a 1L or 2L container from the stomach. and bigger containers from larger animals.

Agreed, maybe add a smaller can.

I do understand why changing the size and/or weight of one item might seem trivial to some please note that we are talking about a few minutes of a Developers time, nothing more.
