How many foundations do i need to build a medium cabin?

Tried to place it on a 2x3 foundation, it wasn't having any of it so i gave up and went with the small cabin, might try for a medium or heck even large in the future.
Would be good if there was a tool tip or snap point on the foundations for cabins so i knew i was getting the right size.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you need 3x3 for the medium one. Base building feature and the UI itself are not finished / final, so you can expect some improvements on that part.
