What to do when fire's, flare's, Torches, Candles burn out!

I'd like to know how to relight a fire or torch when it burns out? I noticed that they all only burn for a while before the end up burning out. Is there a way to refuel the fire, torch, flare or candles or do we destroy it and rebuild them?
I have noticed you can put them out and relight but again it will only burn for so long before it burns completely out where you will be unable to relight.
I have also come to notice that if your fire is exposed to the rain it will go out, but if you move it out of the rain, under the shelter, it will continue to burn until you put it out or it burns out completely.
Seeing how there is no gamma or lighting settings for the game it would be nice to be able to refuel fire's, torches, candles and flares ratter than destroying one that is already built. Feed back is welcome! Stay Safe and in the Shadows

right click on fires, torches gives you more options, yes you can refuel with lots of different items, you will need to have items such as sticks, rags, gunpowder, tinder, chopping boards, logs, paper, coal etc. etc. in hands or in inventory, highlight them then right click to refuel

right clicking on all items ingame will bring up the option "examine" there you will find more info on what items can be used with what

vegetable oil or brake oil ?

best to refuel them with small logs really or maybe try coal from the coal mine i never tried the coal yet myself

I have tried both brake and vegetable oil, 1 min burning time. Maybe I'll go find myself some coal, never tried that. :)

ok cool, just in case people don't know the coal mine is in D1, there are entrances at the side of the Mountain and there is also a hatch you can open above ground with a very long ladder to climb down

yes but, you can refill at a well, but this should be fixed soon, it's been reported so be quick lol

I must be missing something because when I right click on it. It only gives 4 options to choose. 1. Examine, 2. Pickup (is grayed out) 3. Destroy or 4. Light Fire. When I choose light fire nothing happens, if I choose examine. It brings me to crafting where it shows 8 rocks, 4 logs and a rag is needed to craft it. I'm not looking to recraft but simply refuel. I'm using the fire ring, haven't tried on any other types yet.

just to make sure I would right click while on the inventory screen correct? Thanks for your help, I hope I can figure this out.

You can't, when it's empty it's gone. Nice to know in other
circumstances thou ...

but when u fuel press escape so it doesn't use it all ? maybe 1/10 then refill is ok ?

this same as maybe eating water melon press escape or cancel eating process so you only eat 50% so you dont get sick by over filling stomach

you need to highlight your lighter or matches or flint then click on fire to light it, most things work this way in scum like using soap for washing clothes

Thank you both for your help! I think I got it now. I was missing the "highlight" the fire ring and the logs together.... Somethings so simple but yet complex lawl!
