Better door lock system
I have some thoughts on the door lock system in scum made and would now like to share my thoughts with you.

The problem I have with the system is that it is still too expensive to secure a base. If you want to secure a door with the 3 best locks, it costs 700 fame points. If you still want to secure a garage with the 3 best locks, it costs 900 fame points. So you need 1600 fame points for 1 garage and 1 door !!!

This is definitely too much especially considering how long you need to earn so many points with a high skill. You can collect lock picks faster to crack this door than you can collect fame points to secure them again.

So why we can not craft the middle and best door locks like the rusty locks?
One could make the door claim a little more expensive and give us the opportunity to craft all door locks.
First of all, it is absolutely not immersive if one buys a door lock with fame points and it magically appears in the door and secondly it just costs too many points to make that door safe again.
You could possibly tie the door locks to the crafting skill, so you need a high crafting skill to build the middle and the best door lock. (With adapted materials of course)
In any case, we must be able to exchange the door locks. In addition, all squad members should have access to a secured door.
It would be really great if the cracking would be limited to a certain time.
So that you can only crack a door locker within a certain time (for example from 5 pm to 11 pm) like in Conan exiles.

Personally i think it's fine now, i have 6 houses locked up in a Town one of them has 15 locks, it takes time yes, but if we were crafting them the amount of hours i play i could lock up the whole map

You're right about Garages i don't bother with them especially when u can't fortify the windows, i'd rather leave my car in the woods hidden

Can you read Rücklicht?

You should be able to produce all door locks with the necessary materials and for that the door claim should be more expensive.

Unfortunately, I do not agree with you here. This sounds like you have no enemies on the server.
I play with my squad on an official server and almost every day somebody tried to raid us.
In 20 minutes someone cracked at our base 9 golden door locks. You can easily collect 300 lock picks in on one day. Sometimes we still manage to crack 4 golden locks with 50 lock picks.
One day you can easily crack a base with 9 golden door locks. That's 2100 fame points !!!
And it can take a very long time to collect so many fame points. That's why many people I know are no longer interested in the game. You build yourself up a home in 7 days of hard work and within 20 minutes all your work has been for nothing.

it sounds to me people want un-raidable bases.
honestly if you want a base that nobody could ever get into people would quit lot more

and losing your work is part of the game if you didint realise dont get attached to items
thats the problem yor running into

stop thinking its the end of the world when you lose items or a base, its called re-building

How could they raid u if u have 1 guy sitting in the base putting on locks as they're getting picked, i have loads of brass locks in my crates ready for this scenario

It sounds like you're not too serious about the game, we always have someone online, that can contact us at a minutes notice if we are getting raided, that's the beauty of making friends all around the world when u play online game, it would be impossible for anyone to pick my locks if i'm sitting in my base, there isn't enough screwdriver and lockpicks for it

then u say how could i get in my base when someone is raiding it, by shelter of course it's the perfect warp tool

I dont want any un-raidable bases. I want a good, fair and more immersive feature in this game!
Its simple too easy in my eyes. Thats is the reason why many people are crying for base building. Thats the reason why many players so frustrated and stop playing. That's the reason that from million of buyers only 2.000 people regularly play.

The developers can make a game that is regularly played by 2.000 people or make a game that is regularly played by 100.000 players.

I believe that the base construction is the right way. When the base built is coming, more players will come back and buy the game, I'm sure. I and many others I know are just waiting for such a function.

But how is is integrated? Do we get destructible structures? Or do we have to buy again with the fame points door locks?

And yes you are right!
it should not be possible for you to sitting in the base and putting locks when you getting picked! That is also the reason why buy gold locks for 200 fame points make no sense in this game!

the first 200 fame points come pretty quick. kill & craft. first lock a garage at least one gold lock, rustys are still pretty easy to pick, ( of course theyre rusty ol locks)
dont be afraid to spend all your points because getting more is relatively easy, just play the game.
yes its alot when u add it up a house an garage with 3 best locks each door all at once.
you just dont do it that way, work at it. its not really hard or work, its just play the game, shoot zombies, and craft.
go back and add a another gold lock or get the house next, one gold lock at first is ok, they wont get thru that easy, find enough lockpicks or have the patience, (about 300 trys for a gold) + 40-try screwdrivers now.
then add more golds when able.

I think what he's saying is that the total cost to secure doors is too high :100 fame for the claim and 200 fame for each of three gold lock adding up to 700 total. and that's just one door. Add a second if your house/base has a back door, then a garage if you want to store a car. His suggestion is to make the locks craftable (which I believe they have in the works) so they don't cost any fame, and to balance that out make the fame cost of the initial claim somewhat higher. Maybe 200 per door.

It's changing which aspect the points are being spent on, and overall reducing the fame points spent (and time to secure a base).

I like the idea. As it is now, on a busy server, you would just be securing - getting raided - securing - getting raided over and over again.

tweaks and balances that may not make sense now but will later

They have done a really good job at keeping the game playable through it's iterations. I'm not saying that I see the bigger picture because I don't. I do see a bigger picture for me than what I did.

That's why it makes no sense:
you can claim 1 door with 3 golden door locks for 700 fame points or you can claim 7 doors and pack on each door 3 rusty locks. This is much safer and faster than just 1 door with 3 golden door locks. You can replace a cracked one with a new and lose no fame points. So why should I still use the golden door locks?

That means also i should claim all doors in a city because it is much more safer as one door.
And that means you come on a server in which all doors are locked because more doors a better than one!

Maybe they should make the door claim more expensive and gives us the opportunity to craft all door locks.

And in the future we can also attach to our cars door locks and maybe to claim the doors in basebuilduing. Mabe we can buy equipment for fame points in the safe zones later. Then I hit again 600 or 700 fame points for 1 fully secured car?

Yes, i know we get missions but that's another topic.
