There where some issues that drove casuals away and now scum has a solid Core-Playerbase.
This will change over the course of the Development.
However, my time will be limited next two weeks as training for new job.
When I do have time to play games, I always like to load this one first and see what has changed though.
I think the Roadmap for this game should be put into a mindmap type organisational structure, with well thought out player feedback related to those milestones.
Might even do one myself as a gift to Devs.
Still, early days, and still, wish to see this game get better and better.
Now, time to see what's new.
The game is fine.
This. We expect more players to return once we implement the features that are on the roadmap.
IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!
Or at least it is very, very, very unlikely. There is not a single early access title that lost huge player bases and gained them back. Why should it be different here?
Although some other titles in early access did manage to keep huge player bases and even kept growing insanely while the games still were riddled with bugs and missing features.
I really like the idea of the mechanic not being able to abuse 3rd person view a.s.o. but aside from that this game smells a lot like DayZ, nothing is special aside from this one mechanic and maybe for too many people that is not enough to keep them playing.
We have people working on the metabolism system, but it's not an easy task that will be done straight away ... since cooking and diseases are in the works too and they are tied to the metabolism system, we have to test both sides when even the slightest change has been made to either one of them. We appreciate the feedback and suggestions so keep them coming.
The game is not nearly done and we have a lot of things to implement / rebalance / change / update.Feel free to check the road map if you didn't do it already. Some people were bored with the content that was in the game and are probably waiting for major updates/fixes to give it another shot. That's all fair and understandable. DayZ took too long to fix things on their part and to implement something new to the game, we will do our best to avoid making the same mistakes. We're still a small team ( around 30 people ), but we're working hard to get things done, please be patient.
Thank you for taking the time out of your life to make a comment on my post and as honored as I am to have you respond (and think that I am a kid, lol), it seems you did not read, nor understand Zuckerbot 9000's question at all and your attack on my post was not warrented.
I, in no way am criticizing OR stated that I dislike the game. In fact, I have been playing SCUM since it dropped into Steam, and now having put nearly 900hrs into it, I think I have a pretty good understanding of SCUM in it's "Early Access" state.
I have no doubts at all that SCUM will be the best game out there when it comes out of EA and will continually improve. I will be sticking with this game for a long time coming.
Zuckerbot 9000 asked a simple question... "What happened to scum?" and I responded with all honesty, as I see it.
If you honestly believe that what I have said is a full on blatant lie and am TOTALLY wrong, then please... PLEASE prove me wrong.
Until then, please, step away from your keyboard, take a long deep breath, FOCUS and think about any comments before posting your own response.
Have a nice day!
For example SCUM is around 1.3 million players. 1300000*0.0025=3250. This is expected peek in concurrent player count. DayZ more than 5 million copies sold so you can expect around 12500 peek. Or DayZ so far has sold 3.84 times more copies in 5 years so expected player count should be around 11520. 3000 (SCUM peek over weekend) x 3.84 = 11520. So as you can see both games are on expected average. Check that for every other survival game and you will have similar numbers. More copies sold, bigger peek in concurrent player count.
With every new update new players will come back and old player will return. Only important thing is that we continue wit development/road map and make constant improvement on the game.
You are doing good job guys. I am one who waits for updates and my friend and me will play 24/7 when some things are done.
