How to install a dedicated server?

Hello how can I create my own Dedicated Scum Server ?
I would like to play with my family of 6 on my own server.
I have already set up dedicated servers several times including counter strike or a private wow server.
I know how to unlock my ports.
Is there a tutorial what is current and works ?
i don't like to pay money for something i can host for free myself

it can not. About admin abuse, it is rare, I am admin on a server that has passed more than 6000 people, I've been more than a year, it's not like that. Another thing is that people see the absentee everywhere, it is a diagnosed condition defined paranoid

Looking forward to running my own server on my own hardware.
Already run over 10 servers for our community on our own equipment, Costs me $100/month to colo 2 machines vs 10 server X $30 = $300 to have someone else do it.

Will be watching the news and announcements for release, even if it takes a year ;)

It might end up being that the community get together and reverse engineer the protocols and get a dedicated server made as a third party server.
The ability to create a dedicated server was included with the client some time ago, it appears since then they have disabled it because the setup guides no longer work.
I for one would love a dedicated server that I don't have to pay for monthly.
G-portal have some specific method of getting it to work, we need to find out what it is.
I suspect its probably just a config option and some parameters you pass the executable.

If any developers read this - can you please explain why disabling the dedicated server was such a good idea? I think it needs to be enabled asap. Hackers/modders are gonna hack and mod regardless. It's LAN games and people who want private servers that are suffering. I don't have 20 bucks a month to spend on dedicated servers. Common be real!
