If you rent your own server you can enable certain options to your liking and that will suit your play style more (spawning and teleporting) . By default you won't spawn in the same location and will have to find each other in the game to form a team.
Will i see myself on the map?
The EA release will see all the players with a minimap in their possession, you can see your position and thus orientate yourself on the island and find your friends. As the game develops further we're probably gonna change that, but I'm still not sure to what extent since it's still a debate in progress.
Thank you for your support :)

get over yourself you know you would prefer that over not having one
any multiplayer game that makes it hard for you to spawn or find your friends is annoying ( dayz) GPS in a hardcore game makes sense espcially this one your argument is invalid, if you are able to find your friends 2 hours latter after figuring out where you are. Then why would it hurt to speed up that process and add more fun to the game if the end result is the same only expedited. Your argument is invalid
