Tick Rate ?
What tick rate SCUM servers will have ? On paper this game looks good but if SCUM servers tick rate will be so ♥♥♥♥♥ like PUBG or Tarkov i pass.

Tickrate is one of those things they can improve over time. There is no need for a super precise tickrate in EA. Better to do more important stuff first.

"Tickrate is the frequency with which the game server computes stuff and sends the info to your computer. It’s measured in Hertz, so it happens very fast – many times per second."
So it basically ensures that every players position is the same for every other player.
Client position -> Server -> other Client. A few examples here: https://fynestuff.com/tickrate/

So if they start with a tickrate of 20 Hz in EA and steadily improve it, I'm totally fine with it.
But I agree. A solid tickrate is important, especially for far ranged sniping combat.

On your private server you can setup tick rate. There is no limit, but, what most people don't know that tick rate isn't important if dedicated serevr can't catch up in perfomance. You can force tick rate to be 60 Hz but if server drops to 20 FPS because large perfomance impact (lots of things happen at same time) then effective tick rate is 20 Hz. So if you translate that to ping, minimal processing time of the server is 50 ms + network round trip. And if network round trip is solid 40 ms then total ping is close to 100 ms. Then your effective update is 10 FPS or 10 Hz even if you have good conenction. Then player teleport can happen and lots of other high ping releated stuff.

1. What is the tickrate / ping on the official servers (not the private ones)?
For discussing tickrates we have to assume that the average player has a 60Hz display and a graphics card which is capable of running those 60 fps. We dont have to talk about those who cant even reach that 60 fps. And also we have to assume that a certain server is capable of keeping that performance up to this level without constantly dropping to 20-30 fps.
2. Off-topic: what does it cost to rent a private server? is is based on month / year / playtime?

To answer 2. Usally all the servers I have rented is slot based the cheaper ones. The more high end it is more about what hardware you rent. Usally they charge monthly (supscription based) you can look more at https://www.g-portal.com/ and see what they do with other games :)

That would be cheap. If I look on the given page, on average like 1 € / 1 $ per slot (=per month?).

Yup, you can always add one to the basket and see how much it will be and how they charge.. just dont confirm and put in your payment details :D

That's why you need powerful servers. I played a lot of FPS games and I know that if the tick rate is under 60, gameplay is bad. Some games like Battlefield 4 or R6 Siege had to increase the TC to 60 (or more) to become playable and successful. I do not know any FPS game where TC is below 60 and it would be good. So 60 is minimum for me.
