Katana repair

I got a katana but can't seem to repair it tried grindstone, tool box and weapon cleaning kit... any ideas??

That weapon's so rare they may have missed that somewhere...lol

The katana should be repairable with the grindstone. Did you have the grindstone in your hands? short of that I'm out of ideas.

How are your survival and engineering skills?
Maybe they are not high enough.

Yeah, how does the grinding stone work? Needs Survival Skill to use it or what?

(Just for when I eventually find a Katana ... )

You need to have a grinding stone and high enough engineering skill to repair it. If this is the case and it's still not working - we will check what might be the problem and fix it for the next update.

@Bunny I have tested this advanced Engineering, Normal Katana repairs with both versions of grindstone, Special Event Katana does not repair with either.

Event Katana can only be spawned and is not an item a player should find when normally playing the game.

Event Katana is OP.. it's a one hit kill. No one outside of events should have one. On top of that it does way more damage to base elements.

I was lucky enough to spot one of these by chance on a shelf in one of the convenience stores, (Sorry location escapes me). I say lucky because it didn't show as something lying around when I opened the inventory screen and at first I thought it might not be an item I could pick up. But when I hovered the cursor over the Katana it allowed me the option to grab it.

I love it and personally think it's the best melee weapon I've had. Though I wish you could have an option to make a improvised scabbard, so like your quiver for your arrows, it doesn't take up valuable storage space.

I have found 2 grinding stones since I've had it and used them without an issue to maintain the Katana, among other blades.

You know that you can craft improvised grinding stones with a bottle of water and two stones?

The Katana is a cool Melee weapon in deed.
(even if I personally prefer the self made metal sword, because it's one-handed and a bit faster for me).
