The only way I know of to lock your loot up is to find yourself a cabin or an apartment claim the door and then lock the door. I found myself a very secluded cabin and I have 3 locks on the door it cost quite a bit of fame but I feel it's safer in there then in a bush and since you can reduce foilage bushes are not good enough now if we could bury them or add a lock that would help a bit but either way unless the lock or chest is indestructible then your stuff can be looted I do hope we get chest locks then we can also lock the chests with the door giving us a 2nd layer of defense for our loot but in the end It's the price we pay for playing MP instead of SP but I see no reason why we can't have lock boxes like they do in RUST. I love this game as it is but it needs a few tweaks like some customized base add-ons and a bit more crafting maybe a zombie hoard in certain spots and maybe some missions that help level up certain skills. I believe that a cabin that has no roads and is super hard to get a car to seems to be the best strategy for protecting loot at least for the time being.

I did the same thing but chose the wrong cabin. After spending all my FP on locks, I realized I can still loot through the window. Oh well, save FP for some window barricades. Live and learn....

Place ur chest in a room without windows on the second floor and lock the door thoroughly

Chests will be lockable soon, for now your best bet is to hide them.

if you put chest inside a locked building put the chest 10-15 feet away from a window it can not be looted. just like parking a car in a locked garage they can still get inside it from the window but if you park away from the window as far as you can then they cant get in it.

So, here we are 16 months later and I don't know what the definition of "soon" is for you developers, but I'm pretty sure that longer than 1 year is FAR beyond anyone's definition. I recently saw some news on this game after being absent for 2 years but apparently nothing has really changed. But I mean, come on. If it's going to take this long to implement things that should have been released a long time ago, you should have just released it in 2021. Maybe Bohemia can help you guys out. I hear they're really into doing the same thing, only faster.

I dont know if you know this yet, but you CAN lock chests now.

You can lock your chests. Just make an improvised lock and drag and drop it onto your chest in the vicinity bar.
