The flying robot / bad idea
Hey guys,

i just killed two people hiding in a building. I would have no idea about them hiding in that building and waiting for people to come in BUT there was a flying robot on the roof of that building looking on them. Thanks to that sucker they are dead.

It's a little bit unfair. That robot shows randomly at any time showing your exact position to others which might be deadly for you.

In my opinion this robot flying over your head should not be serverside but only clientside without any model just for the atmosphere that you are in a reality show.

Others should definitely not see it !

This small flying guy gonna cost a lot of lives and will make many people rage.

I'm sure they'll change how it works in the future. They released the game in EA for feedback - don't forget that. Removing them entirely is not a solution because they're a core part of the game's concept. The most logical solution I can think of is to have them float above a general vicinity that players are in, not swoop down on to players directly.

Ya, I noticed a bright light in the forest and it was some poor slob getting spotlighted by one of those things. He didn't stand a chance.

Have you considered that the idea is to reveal the position of players in order to produce conflict?

Like most of the game features they might as well make these magical also. Have them only visible to the player they are watching.

If that was the case the devs should have considered a means of defense.

There is, blow up the tiny robot asap...

No, i haven't. That robot is filming you, like reality show. If it was made to produce conflicts it's... stupid idea. It is lowering your survival chance from 50/50 to like 80/20 because knowing where your enemy is is the most important thing. If someone knows your exact position and i don't have a clue about him... well just hope he has no intention of killing you otherwise all he need to do is to wait for you to come out...

Yeah, those robots should be only clientside not serverside (just you see them).

Blowing that robot up is even worse than letting him hover over your head. Because if someone didn't see the robot, he will definitely hear your shooting.

It's like a random event that can cause some fun stuff to go down! I'm sure you'll come around to the idea after a few crazy events break out around you or you come across funny clips from streamers involving them in the future.

It's kind of annoying when you play 4 people together. It's constantly present

That's a good counter to teaming then...

Nope. I just don't like the idea. I like fair play when both sides got the same chances.
I play carefuly, hiding, watching stuff around me a lot, trying to hear everything around me.... the last thing i need is a robot over my head, at this moment fair play is turning into "you know my location, i don't know yours".

Why anything should counter teaming? People like to play together, it has its own advantages and even disadvantages. I think there is no need to counter teaming this way.
