SCUM
RIP SCUM on Linux using SteamPlay (new Proton based on Wine)
Last patch killed SCUM on Linux... Probably EAC killed SCUM on Linux...

SCUM was running perfect using proton under Linux, until new patch was released last night... This is really annoying. @Dev team, please ensure Anti Cheat will still allow Linux gamers to play the game.

Steam released a platform (Proton) that allowed us to run this game under Linux. An update shouldnt have broken it, and it is inconsiderate of the devs to do this.

Firstly, do you think they realized the anti cheat would break it? Probably not so go post in the technical forum and hopefully they will release a ptch for it soon

It is often the case that anti-cheat implementions break the game for linux users, unless the anticheat is cross-platform. The devs must have decided that they ignore the minority of users which are on Linux, as many oher game companies have done.

Less than one week playing it and DEVS broke the game for us!!!!!!!!!!!

I want my refund, even with more than 2 hours played... Devs made it unplayable now!

Still not being a reason to kill the game for people that recently bought this game with Linux because was playable on Linux!!!

That's not a solution... Some users prefer to use linux as their main desktop, some despise windows, and some users need a linux computer if they can't afford or obtain a copy of windows. I hate when I look for a solution to a problem and all I get is a snarky reply like "lol you use X?? just use Y!" sometimes that's not an option and I'd like a solution to the question I asked for the platform I asked. /rant

While I get that it's frustrating that it doesn't work right now, this is likely something that flew under the radar. The game is not advertised to work on linux, and is likely not being tested on Linux.\

Proton is more or less just wine at the moment, I'd suggest opening an issue on their github page https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues
