Only in single player. In single player the only things saved are your character and the items on him.
Everything else you crafted or stored disappears when you log out.

In multiplayer the stuff should stay but can of course be picked up by other users.
Also after a server reset it may be gone too.

well thats sucky, why the hell would I play single player then?

Well that blows lol.
Been playing single-player and finally made a storage box and wasn't able to interact with it at all.
Why would they have it off for people in single-player?

I would think it would be the other way around. but what do I know. :D

Good question. Why would anyone play a SURVIVAL game in singleplayer? The threat of players among everything else is the real survival. I never get people who play singleplayer when there's a multiplayer mode.

True that

Truth, but i was kinda hoping for an indepth story line that could be run as a single player. not a repeat of DAYZ on one hand, and RUST on the other.

They actually plan to integrate a storyline in single player with quests and a goal of escaping the island at the end.
Also they will implement persistent storage with one of the next updates.
So just be patient.

400 hours in "7 Days to Die", 80 in "Conan Exiles", 100 hours in "The Long Dark" and so on and so on. All in single player.

I cant stand PvP and have zero interest in it. I prefer the feeling of " you alone in a large world against zombies, monsters, nature" .
I dont need some 12 year old kid sniping me and calling me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over voice chat.
That kind of kills my immersion, sorry.

Hoping this is a bug because yeah, we had about 4 storage crates hidden in the woods, as of about 10 hours ago when I logged off they were full of supplies, I just log back on now and they're all gone, including my shelter and campfire.

Can a dev confirm if storage containers despawn... because that's a big deal?

Totally true... especially when they can respawn in their shelter a few meters away to annoy you again if you killed them. This kind of gameplay is kind of stupid in a game that claim realism. Please devs: set a minimum distance (long) to be able to respawn on a shelter.

Why would anyone play anything then, while we are at it. Perhaps there is such a thing as personal taste? I enjoy playing these games online and offline. Like someone else said above, the feeling of being completely alone in an apocalypse is a unique feeling to single-player.
Also has far less bugs and no server issues to contend with.

Because they are adding things to a campaign, quests, objectives and such... i never get people who dont read fully about something before they speak on it.
