i made a fire ring but i cant activate it somehow?

You have to light a fire first ( fire drill, lighter, matches, tinder, rags ) and then select skewer or any other food item you crafted ( make sure it's highlighted in red ) and right click on the fire source > cook. Cooking process can be seen by the durability on the item that's cooking, once the durability starts to go down, take the food and eat it. Cooking skill is getting a update soon so this will improve.
