Crafting Help.

Struggling to craft a storage box. I have all the mats. Obviously, it has to be on the floor as I can't carry 8 planks. I noticed the colour changes from red to orange when I have all the mats available, but not able to craft. Any one know why this is? No space on the floor or in inventory?

Red means that you have nothing of the required materials, orange means that you partially have all the materials, there is something else you need to get aswell.

Yeah, I was using wire. The little arrow keys says which mats you can use. Wonder if it's because I;m in a town. Was just testing it where I was. Possibly a no build zone. Will try the woods.

Do you know if they are locked?

I have the same issue. Trying to make it with wire + planks and have more than enough mats, but it's still yellow and won't craft. Got so frustrated, I alt-f4'd with all sorts of pig parts on the ground ready to cook. Hard games can be fun. Frustrating, broken games (whether it's internally broken or simply not easy enough to figure out is all the same to me) just make me angry.

i had aproblem with crafting box. But it turned out i needed two stacks of rope..when you craft a rope it says 10/10. i thought that meant i could use 2 of the 10/10 to craft. but i needed to craft rope twice. (replace rope with wire). BUT, then once i crafted it, it wouldn't let me pick it up, and i had no clue how to open it. fyi. another thread was saying they logged out with stuff in a box and logged back in with it all gone

i think red is when u have not any of the materials. yellow when u have some but not all. and grey without lines when u can craft it. but some objects look gray with diagonal stripes and I can't build them even if I have what it takes. anyone knows why? =)

Note that You cannot "mix" ropes. So if the recipe demands two rope You cannot take one tree bark rope and one cloth rope You need two of a kind. Red means "selected". Geez it had me a good while to figure that out. About the only game out there where RED means "ok You selected this". Its also the key to lighting a candle which I can now light 100% of the time. Yay.
Drop candle-->highlight red-->highlight firelighter or match red-->right click candle and choose light fire. YAY.

I build a chest as follows: produce two rope OF THE SAME KIND-->Produce a bundle of planks three times and drop them at the desired location by carrying them there one by one-->UNCRAFT all plank bundles at this location-->drop ropes in vicinity next to planks-->craft chest. Works every time.

Note that CRAFTED bundles do NOT count. The uncrafting is very important !

You can't craft it because your base skill level is too low.

You can't craft it because your base skill level is too low.

That's not true. If the color is red or orange he does have the required skill level.

It's just something missing or broken.

Also, make sure that the item/material is in "good" condition. Im not sure what the cut-point is, but I have found that if the material is below 1/3 durability, it wont craft. This is especially true of found wire and rope.

You can't move or pick up the boxes. They don't lock so anyone that finds it can take your stuff. You open it by clicking the white mark on the bottom right corner of the container in the "vicinity" window. You put stuff into it by dragging them onto the box in the vicinity tab.

The problem is that you have 10 ropes (default bark rope craft stack) but in fact you need 2x10 ropes.
