Why is this more OP than a gun lmao?
Someone shot me 3 times i turn around throw a spear into his laggy body and one shot him lol

I hit a guy 4 times with a pitchfork and he turns around and one shots me with a spear... WTF?

Don´t even have to be stone spears, simple wooden spears are enough, one headshot, puppet killed. Don´t know about killing other players, but for puppets you don´t need anything else.

I dont know if i headshot the guy or if he headshot me, but i went from 97% health to 0% (Dead) in one spear throw. Sounds pretty broken for an early game item

I'd imagine a spear through the chest would kill somebody. Lul @ the guy who couldn't dodge a spear throw.

Bullet or Spear... if it's in the head.. your dead...

It's made that way to balance out combat between fresh spawns and geared players.

Just like most of the time, a single bullet is enough to kil you.

WIth a spear.... max you can have on you are 2 (3 if you have one in your hands), and a major downtime after each throw..... so you better not miss.

It also takes longer to aim / land a shot with a spear than with a gun, due to flight time, if a target is moving it takes serious skill to land it.

Overall, balanced.

it was his reactions that were on higher lvl than mine, and i think it was fair.

slow throw vs fast trigger makes good balance imo but you cant kill a pig with only 1 spear tho.

totally agree, a real spear can kill yes .. a wooden spear is a joke against a leather. For the head shot its possible but unlikely cuz a spear need to be balance perfectly and throw perfecltly to avoid ricochet. But the game is not balance yet, i understand the Over power of the spear is for the survival aspect. Archery will comming out so they will balance everything .. for now i want just the FPS be there priority. cuz if the FPS is low now, what will they be when they add more stuff.

Humanity hs been murdering even very large game with the large, sharpened wooden stick. What the spear lacks in velocity, it more than make up for in mass. If you are close enough tha tthe spearman was able to get you, you failed well before the pear left their hands. Your effective range, even with a handgun is so much more than theirs it was your fight to lose.

Also, a simple wooden spear wouldd do wonders against leather. It's been used to kill animals the world over for thousands of years. It's point isn't as durable, but a freshly made one would spit a human or animal easily on the first few throws.

When ya get back home lay them both out side by side. Which one do you think would do less damage?

Once the throwing skill is in the game I imagine spear chucking effectively is going to be limited to people who really want to invest in it. So I'd wager it is in a good spot.
