How to open a can/tin?

Can anyone guide me how to open a canned food?

I think it's bugged. Had a can opener and a can of tuna. Couldn't get either to interact with eachother

nope you just doing it wrong...

Shift on Knife or any other opener and then can and then open it. Enjoy.

you can even open cans with a kitchen knife. Select the blade of any type, so its highlighted red, do the same with the can, then right click can and click open.

Its not bugged and working just fine.

you select your knife/key opener and your can (both will be selected , red color)
then you right click the can and press open

if you have a knife or opener in your inventory you can just right click the can and click open. then you can eat.
