The only way to play with your son is to play on multiplayer, or to rent a server(quite expensive), and put a password to it.
The last option(the best for you i guess) is to find an official server that is not overpopulated, i suggest you server #1714.
Marvellous. So not co op then as stated on steam!!!!
Any idea how much the servers cost to rent?

That's what wikipedia says too btw:
"Cooperative gameplay (often abbreviated as co-op) is a feature in video games that allows players to work together as teammates, usually against one or more AI opponents."
Also everything I said was valid. You're actually arguing with yourself here.
Yes you are spot on. The moment you introduce enemies which are not A.I, it becomes multiplayer.
cooperation
noun
the action or process of working together to the same end.
"they worked in close cooperation with the British Tourist Authority"
synonyms: collaboration, working together, joint action, combined effort, teamwork, mutual support, partnership, coopetition, coordination, liaison, association, synergy, unity, concurrence, concord, accord, understanding, give and take
Co-op multiplayer games have existed for a long time. Recent ones you may be familiar with are Escape From Tarkov, PubG, Fortnite...heard of those? From casual to hardcore, with SCUM being somewhere inbetween.
Regardless of your interpretation, the fact is that the game was advertised correctly and all one had to do was check out a few videos or streams to understand the game's premise. You didn't do that now you're whining about your own mistake and attacking those pointing out your mistake? Ok then, if that's how you want to go about it, feel free to whinge away. Nobody is stopping you. You could also refund the game and find something more up your alley like perhaps State of Decay 2. @op
