Camo skill
Simple question hopefully, does it do anything at the moment?

So the camo skills in a way when you lie down on the ground or in a bush it checks your gear: if it is camouflaged, how much of it you have, is it the right type of camouflage. Then it checks if you are standing up, crouching or lying down. After all that it gives you a camo bonus which, when another player comes near, it checks their awareness skill and compares the 2. If yours is higher you remain hidden, if theirs is the player can see you.

Awesome. Thanks man, thought so but a few folk thought it did nothing, I didn't agree :)

Maybe some info on 'the right type of camouflage' would be cool in a future update. Some are obvious, some not so much (black, multicam etc)

It checks if it is the right kind of camo? Thats super cool.
Is it tagged onto a surface like the sounds we make when walking?

Is the wrong camo like snow/no snow still better than street clothes in the woods?

How does urban camo work?

Does black help on street?

Do shadows help?

Are dirty zombie clothes more camo value than clean clothes?

I have so many questions will we find out more details later?

Cool, so keeping two sets of camo HAS been worth it then. One for the snow areas and one for, well, everywhere else lol!

I want to try out the bear suit thing next and hang out in the woods N of airfield. (Saw it on video : O)

I really want to know about this too. The dirt on clothes seems accumulative or ?

Red raincoats seem to get so muddy looking they are barely recognisable. I'm not really sure actually from when they are first worn to days after running around terrain in various weather conditions. But I still avoid tracking or following other players (when the opportunity arises) if I am wearing one as I am unsure.

I know certain types of workpants (HiVis ones) can be spotted a fair distance from players reporting on it.

Cleanliness of clothes makes no impact on the check, that's the most I can say right now. The skill is planned to be worked upon further anyway you will get more info then so keep a lookout.

Im deeply interested too in knowing better how camouflage works...
Look forward to have more info when the game will be more shaped out.

Indeed a very interesting topic. Especially when considering the variety of camo patterns and biomes in the game. Quite some questions.

Hello Beda,

A few questions please because I always Max out my camo to reflect my type of RolePlaying.

1. Do you HAVE to be laying down for Camo to activate? Can I kneel in a bush and also "not render" to a player with lower awareness? Or is it 100% always prone? (personally I think kneeling in a bush is almost just as effective IRL.

2. With Max Camo vs Max Awareness - does the bonus from the Camo Clothing (lets say you had FULL camo on with FULL camo gear) beat out someone with Max awareness?

3. Do Bushes add to the Camo Bonus? Or can I prone in the grass and not render to someone with lower awareness? Does it HAVE to be a bush?

4. Are you going to implement camo face-paint items to increase Camo bonus even more? Even using charcoal from an old firepit and mud on your face?\

These are important for me since I always Max the skill out and although I do prone a lot, I'd like to know if kneeling can be just as effective.

Does it work? It should. Is it just as effective? Nope. Like I said it has more variables. Yes kneeling in a bush should activate the camo skill but don't expect it will have the same effect as lying down in one.
