The thing is, those elements are constantly decaying. Meaning you need to fix them (maintain them) on a regular basis. They are decaying slowly so you have enough time to do it.

OP, at the moment you don't even need the materials to repair, just a knife.
Definatly it would reduce the kilometer long walls you see currently on some server
thts why you repair walls from both sides, the second is 90% only for checking
One could hope. I think you may be underestimating the dedication of the players who do things like that, though. They're the dedicated type.
