How do you repair your cabin, doors, and palisades? It's really ugly.
I've looked it up reddit, but clearly I'm not following the right process of repairing/reinforcing/maintaining, what ever the term, the base

These are the problems I'm going through:

Equip or place every single stuff that you used for your buildings.

When you repair em by pressing [F], the hp gauge turns 100%

The few hours after you log back in, the hp isn't even recovered, it's getting worse.

So I've placed a big wooden log, wooden plank right in front of those doors and palisades, put a small tool box and metal scrap in my PC's bag, and held a knife or axe in hand.

the logs/toolbox/axe/knife, their conditions don't even deteriorate as if they haven't been used in the process.but it still says its 100% fixed, but the very next day I log in, the hp percentage is again lowered.

What have I missed? It just doesn't work and its kinda makin me nuts.

Any suggestions?

Hey there!
The thing is, those elements are constantly decaying. Meaning you need to fix them (maintain them) on a regular basis. They are decaying slowly so you have enough time to do it.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask, perhaps the best way would be through our official Discord because we can chat there any time you want.

Here is the link to that --> https://discord.gg/Pzekg3
Have fun!

The way I've experienced based decay is every number of seconds condition goes down 0.01%. It felt like about 10%/24 hours but don't quote me that's probably inaccurate.

Note that 2-3 axe swings only takes 0.01%

its not perfect but could be worse

May i suggest that every repair should cost at least 1 Toolbox point ?

That would get rather expensive rather quickly, IMO. I have a small base, about 2 1/2 small cabins square in total, that would cost almost an entire red toolbox to repair that way, unless I'm misunderstanding you. Interior blocking or honeycombing would become prohibitive.

OP, at the moment you don't even need the materials to repair, just a knife.

well thats 3 nails and 3-4 lootet cars for 90 Toolbox points, in my opinion thats doable, even for casuals. As long as they dont build a megafortress.

Definatly it would reduce the kilometer long walls you see currently on some server

I've noticed that while maintaining palisades not all palisades get maintained even though they show 100% :( Easiest way to tell is by maintaining a few spots next to each other, log out and then log back in after a few minutes. Seems to miss a palisade here or there but not always :(

thts why you repair walls from both sides, the second is 90% only for checking

Thing is you gotta log out and back in to even see if there is a missed palisade, so just checking the other side will not do anything unfortunately.

I do think maintaining a structure should cost a little something like nails. A fraction of their original construction materials.

I guess we'd actually have to try it to know for sure. They could always adjust it if it was too much / too little.

One could hope. I think you may be underestimating the dedication of the players who do things like that, though. They're the dedicated type.
