That feature has been removed in order to make it harder to find food. You can still chop other player's bodies (or your own) into meat, I think.

This. Once the medical skill and diseases are reworked and implemented you will be able to chop puppets once again but you will risk your health while eating that meat.

Are you able to yet? I picked up the game again now that I have my new pc and can run it, and im enjoying it but cant stop starving to death

There are multiple things you can do to avoid starving to death in SCUM. First of all - stop running everywhere since that depletes your calories faster. Also, carrying too much gear also affects how much calories you burn. Now, combine both running and carrying a lot of gear - you will burn through your calorie reserves really fast. The optimal movement speed is jogging, everything else should be situational.

Some foods are a better source of calories than others, for instance - sugar, candy bars, MRE are all excellent sources of calories, while larvae, berries or apples will hardly sustain you at all. Always check your calorie balance ( metabolism interface ) when moving around adjust accordingly.

And don't forget that food is everywhere outside of just the buildings. Fields of corn, potatoes, sunflowers, grapes. Orchards of apples, pears, cherries, olives. Gardens with all kinds of different vegetables and melons. Mushrooms and grubs in the woods. And of course critters you can kill and eat, but they don't hold still nearly as well as a cabbage. As long as you keep your eyes open and learn what to look for, you'll never go hungry.

About that "some foods are better than others".

The "Cheese burger" MRE needs some work. That is a lot of calories with no nutritional value. Even a Vegan burger has more nutritional value than your MRE cheese burger. Heck, Ransom's have more nutritional value.

MRE's have a nutritional value? Oh, wait, I'm thinking C-rats.

Mushrooms, strawberrys, ransom you can find in woods. Much else you can find around houses.

All the food rebalancing and changes will have to wait for the metabolism update.

This game is ridiculously difficult to find food. i've been playing for 3 hours only finding zombies. starving to death repeatedly without scavenging any food... this is kinda sad at this point. *EDIT* its been over 4 hours. I have found nothing to increase my food. >.< NOTHING. IN FOUR HOURS.

A bit of a necro, but...

Where are you looking? There's fields with corn and potatoes. There's gardens behind houses in every village. There's grasshoppers and larvae in fallen trees and stumps. There's fruit trees both in towns and orchards. There's mushrooms and strawberries and aloe plants and cactus plants and others out in the wild. There's food quite often in convenience stores and gas station shops. There's vending machines in many buildings, like the hotels (with the little garage workshop on the back side). There's the mess hall buildings at some POI's. There's the farms with the barn buildings that have an open bottom or the stilt bottom barns (look for the hey bales).

Start by opening your map and looking for the tan spots. It's about 50/50 that it will be a farm field.

I play single now, and mostly those show "Nothing found". There's a lot of seeds and fertilizer, farming equipment but it takes a while to get them ripe. Is it better in multiplayer servers? I know you can change some values in settings for more loot and also spawn food with #SpawnItem function. For me that is the last action but I need to use it to keep having at least minimum food. I guess it is just bad luck from RNG.

edit: and the weirdest thing is that you don't suffer thirst at all, water is everywhere but you still find juices, sodas and water bottles a lot.

Same. I drop on a tiny island in Z4. Very cool little island, but no food at all. I craft a fishing rod, but need cans, so I take the boat and go to the bigger island just at the south. West to East.... Nothing... I get some cans lol, and found some vegetables at the dirt racing thing, but that's it... Just to stay alive, nothing to bring at home (on my little island) to survive and get old...

I kill some puppet and I was looking for a way to meat it. There is no animals at all, nothing... I really hope fishing is a good way to fish because I literally spend 5 hours to craft a fishing rod and exploring the other island for cans and something useful...

Right now, my backpack is full of body part lol. There's is still no way to meat them? I don't understand why I can cut them... And I play single player, so I can't eat player. I saw on other thread they will put back this feature when illness will be in the game, but I don't know if it's in the game right now.

Explain to me why they can necro a 3 years old Post and I can't necro a 1 year... And by the way, i'm here because of google... If you don't want people searching and finding answer to their question and old post, JUST DELETE THEM!!!

There is no point at all to recreate a new post for the same exact same thing! Google and even the search tab here exist for something.

I read they remove that until they fix/add the illness and poison stuff. It's not fix? It was 6 years ago...
