Interesting/rewarding POIs to visit?
Curious if anyone has suggestions on places to go loot or explore (or even things to do) that are worth doing beyond the obvious of hitting a bunker or airstrip. I been doing that but thought maybe there were some other interesting places to loot or things to do/see?

Also, some of the maps I have found list locations but after going there it turns out the location is technically there (TEC2 site) but there is no way in and no mechs or anything actually there so trying to avoid trecking across the map for nothing.

Are the drops worth going after?

Depends on your definition of "interesting/rewarding".

The drops are worth going after, but in MP just be aware that there are others with the same purpose. Be prepared.

Oh! And I should add, you may find 4 puppets in there as well.

Naval base is a nice loot spot :)

Some locations marked on the third party maps are not yet functional as they will become functional safe zones in the future.

I went to the observatory with a friend. A vehicle, several rifles, white vest and several other stuff. Many puppets, though.

Ever need to train some fighting /shooting skill?. Stack up with all your ammo and go quarry. Fields around it are littered with puppets. Kill all of them in sight and run 50 m further , new horde reloads. Endless puppets loading there.

For loot AND a great experience nothing beats Naval base! try comming in from the south east along the coast and you will find hatches that lead straight down into the underground submarine caves, be aware that there are mechs roaming around down there. There is also plenty of military and industrial loot to be found in the multiple locations there (and most likely some pvp). I also love the WWII bunkers, small amount of loot, but you can still get lucky and on top of that a lot of them are in amazing places with a great view, which in it self is a reward. If your more into exploring, try going places that seem to be of no interest at all, i tend to find a lot of peoples chests and cars parked these places. In general i like to pack all my gear into crates at my base, then suicide and spend 50 fame to spawn in a sector as far away from my base as possible, and then make my way back there looting places along the way, usually i come home with a ton of good stuff, i got to spend the day exploring the map and i usually have a pvp encounter or two on the way.

I like to do this when starting a new character. I build a crate or two in a central sector and then randomly spawn for 25 fame and work my way back to the crates. I get all that fame back making spears/axes and killing a few puppets along the way. Its a good way to accumulate some extra gear sets with half the traveling.

Tec-1 Safe zones I find Brass knuckles and Katana's in the towers. plus, No puppets and not many players go in because it's a ghost town. some good loot. Even pulled a Riot Helmet once or twice.

Bootcamp offers Lot's of loot that's easy to get to, Same with the trainyard. Building near the East exit has 20 crates and a workshop. Always find a M1, Kar98 and recurve bows.

Oh and if you are at the upper part of the new Observatory take a look over the fence.. Best Sledge hill on the Island.. I hit 98kph on the sledge and must have gotten at least 70 ft of airtime.

I could go on for ever..

I couldnt see the sledge in the crafting menu. Can it be crafted or found? Thanks

Loot (in order of value for me)
- Any Bunker (the harder they are to get to, the better)
- Peripheral buildings around bunkers (you'll still find military loot sometimes, including quivers)
- Military Barracks
- Naval Base
- Air Field
- Factory
- Shooting Range
- Military camps (tents in woods)
- WW2 Bunkers
- Rail Yard
- The 2 quarries are fun to explore, and they have a pretty nice spawn spot....bring lots of ammo
- Cage Match arena (for brass knuckles)
- The warehouse looking buildings with big metal double doors
- Garages, dumpsters, garbage cans/bags (lots o' scrap metal & screwdrivers!)

NOTE: air field will probably be higher for many, but for me it's a risk:reward question. Getting into a large bunker that spawns all the same items is significantly less risk, and once you're in you're not bothered by mechs or puppets, so I rank them higher. Same basic idea for naval base

Interesting:
- Sanitarium is pretty fun for a minute
- All of the lighthouses are pretty cool, and you'll occasionally find really good loot
- The Observatory is new, and maybe my favorite so far
- Coastal drive is pretty fun
- Worth seeing the view from the top of the mountain
- Go cave hunting
- Go to the edges of the wall
- Vunski Vrh is one of my favorite towns, and decent loot while you're there (found ultra rare item there once)
- Personally, I've gone to visit every town and village on the map as a sightseeing tour - it was great fun....highly recommend once you get through the hot spots

Wow. Great responses everyone. Thanks for all the info.

Question: people are calling certain spots "safe zones" but not sure I know what that means. Can anyone elaborate? I think the dev said the non-functional TEC1 spots that you can't enter yet would be safe zones so does that mean they will be like bunkers (and those are safe zones also) or they will be something else?

The safe zones are above ground, have a lot of more modern looking empty buildings, and are surrounded by a concrete fence. As you approach them there are tall metal towers with lights on top and yellow reflective paint stripes. I think in future they are going to be no fire zones where people trade with NPC vendors for various things. There's one at the intersection of grids B2,B3 and A2,A3. Not sure on the others.
