Can you use similar tactics with mechs? Like if I waited for it to path to one side and then threw a rock even farther away would it walk towards the rock sound giving me a wider berth to escape?
Yes, Mechs react to rocks, or anything else thrown as well, but they break off sooner than the puppets.
When on alert they just spin and shoot. It's not that easy at the moment.
I am finding at usual bunkers I am getting shot more than usual where as prior I could even sneak in without even alerting a mech.
EDIT: Don't follow his C2 bunker tutorial. The other entrance is WAAAAAY easier.
Also, bunkers mostly have two entrances. Either two "big" gates or one "big" gate and one (more or less) hidden hatch.
I've also found that just waiting a few minutes is enough to let the mech return to it's standard patrol, especially if there's more than 1 in the area. They appear to try to sync their patrol patterns to be somewhat predictable, so I'm guessing this issue has something to do with resetting that synchronization when they're thrown off by something....mech 1 pauses while mech 2 gets back into position, or something along those lines. This appears to take several passes to self correct sometimes.
