Player Built Underground Fallout Shelters & Bunkers
Hello folks so we know digging is planned to come in game so lets expand on the digging and consider small Fallout shelters & Bunkers.

this would need a lot of flexibility in order to be placed and for example trees could be cut down in order to clear a space and once the bunker is complete trees would re-spawn back on their original location giving the bunker roof some extra camo

the main focus should be on solo players and should be considerably small enough to fit in

A bed

A few storage units/chests

water storage than can be refilled

and not much more.

A hideable Hatch entrance - very difficult to locate (maybe only locatable with advance awareness or in the case of a metal roof a change in sound of footsteps across a metal roof would reveal a bunkers location) which can take 3 gold locks and internal door (with open and closable hatch slot for shooting out of) again taking another 3 gold locks) six in total at lest

space should be fairly limited

The bunker shelter levels should be as follows

Basic

Medium

Advanced

solo players should have a fairly good chance of being able to survive on Mp servers as gangs will rule for the most part and always have a much bigger unfair advantage

+1 - this would be awesome. Honestly, if put in the situation of the game, it's probably the route I'd go.....sun light is so overrated :steamhappy:

Tactically, it would also be great to embed one in a larger base as a more highly secured area

yeah tbh I do like being present on Mp servers but do want for the most part to be solo and do mainly play during the in game night time hours tbh

+500 very well detailed and written thread, and very nice idea. It could be game changing. And I'm with you on supporting solo players, giving them a chance (To play with a big squad is very boring for me). I really think this should be in the game.

More encouragement for hoarders, i don't think the game needs that kind of stuff. I would actually like to play on a server without base building and chests. For true hardcore survival action without all the minecraft and hoarding elements.

Big base with palissade encouraging hoarders, and I hate that believe me. But small prefab camp or this mini prefab underground solo bunker that op is suggesting wouldn't encouraging hoarders. First it's aimed to help solo players. Then Op said it would be only limited small storages. It would be used as a spawn point, and just to keep few weapons. Like a tent, but underground. Like you wouldn't be able to hoard vehicles for instance. Believe me I hate hoarders with big bases where they keep all the vehicles and rp around there ugly bases all day. If you don't like even small camps mechanic, then yes you should wait for mod and make a mod without this mechanic, because it is a part of the game, since launch (with the box and shelter).

Another idea to decrease hoarding would be to limit the amount of chests per player. Or maybe add a fp price to build chests. The amount of hoarding on servers is beyond stupid atm. Maybe devs can add something like that as server option with the release of 1.0.

Why limit hoarding? What's it really hurting?

Limiting chests severely kneecaps distributing lot across the map, which is more often yard by solo players than hoarding clans

None of this idea will limit hoarding, as I could build 10 of these if I wanted... Or just build a monstrous base around it to hoard other loot, and use it as an extra layer of defense

Doesn't change it being a good idea, just not for the reasons y'all are thinking

Expect if the small bunker prefab is not really underground. If it's just a hatch on the ground, and when you hit the key to enter (like cars), small loading and boom you're in, no?

EDIT: But i think it doesn't fit to the game like SCUM and it would bring in a whole bunch of new problems...too much work for such a gimmick if you ask me.
