PvE settings feedback
Hi there everyone,

You all requested it and suggested it, so we are finally looking into creating official PvE servers.
This is where ya’ll come in because your opinion matters (so I’ve been told). So, make your case, state your opinion show us what you got! What do you expect from a PvE server? This includes amount of loot, player damage, mech damage, puppets etc... Right now we are looking at the available settings so state your case people.

Thank you for your time, stay SCUM out there.

Without the threat of other players, it should definitely be more hardcore. Puppet and Mech damage should be boosted for sure, and loot dropped drastically!

I've been playing on a server that has 0.2xloot, more puppets, and boosted damage from everything and it's been pretty enjoyable on the PvE side. Finding something actually feels rewarding!

I would like to suggest for settings.

A xp modifier for skills. So skills are trained faster. For the people that have limited play time, have jobs, kids.

I hope you will consider this,

Best,
Mike

I'd completely remove all the weapons and military loot. But leave the ability to craft improvised weapons and ammo.

Also it'd be important to introduce severe consequences for starvation and deficiencies.

And I may be a bit annoying with that but please... implementation of POISONS should have to be a priority for PvE.

+1 I like that idea a lot

I suppose, you may created servers with different difficulty: low (less damage or no mech), standard, hard (more damage and less loot). And checking statistic what will more populated

Seperate player to player damage between open world and events. There are some players who just want to have a shootout from time to time without getting kos'd or want to test their skills against friends they made from hanging around in PvE.

We run a PvE server where we have constructed a lot of different things for our players. Maze's, Zombie arena's, PvP Pistol Only Arenas. All with there own dressing room so people use the gear provided by the admins to gather Fame Points and win prizes like gear/food/meds etc.
This is all run by admins. Just an idea for other server owners. Bye!

I like the idea, but as I seen there are a lots of PVE servers are in the community. Ofc these are private servers but why people don't choose one to play on? I running a server since a week which is only PVE , but the server is empty? I think Official PVE servers will destroy these servers.

Good day! In my opinion and knowing the opinion of some people, I can assume that:
1 Mech damage should be increased
2 Puppets should be more and we should be afraid of them because of increased damage (this should make people gather in groups to visit places with great things)
3 animals should also do more damage and temporarily neutrolize the player like a bear and sometimes a wild boar
4 Items appearing in the world to reduce to 0.5 -0.3 (everything that we find should be of value)
5 To make military equipment even more rare 0.1-0.2 and it should appear in bunkers and other military facilities (it’s possible weapons and helmets from World War 2 will appear a little more often)
6 Transport needs to be somehow distributed between the players (but without locks on cars and bots that will be able to sell it to us it will be difficult, but the system must be introduced immediately to avoid the emergence of bases with 64 cars for 2-3 people)
7 Make more emphasis on the consequences of injuries, temperature, increase the debuff on getting wet clothes (colds, slowdowns and other nasty things)
8 To give the opportunity to repair clothes up to 100% (naturally, if there is a survival skill)
9 Make more models of weapons for crafting for each type of bullets (look at the Metro series of games, I think you can do better!)
10 and finally - WHEN_RPG?:steambored:
 Sorry for my english

A couple suggestions!

- Mentioned earlier. There should be seperate server settings when it comes to World damage and Event damage. Because on a PvE server we like to keep the PVP damage completely off in the World but active during Events. The current situation is both are being handled by the same settings.

- I just came up with the following idea. Why not giving server owners the option to choose between Normal server style and PvE server style at the Server Settings webpage. If they choose the PvE style they will have different page layout which does not have pvp-damage settings on the page at all but only damage settings for the Events because PvP is by standard not configurable at all when they choose that style. By doing this we can keep the current settings page we all know for the normal server style and a new page for PvE servers.

- Also adding in PvE-based Events would be a great thing to do because now we only have PvP-based Events. This is why I suggest to make a PvE style server config that does not have the PvP damage settings at all but only Event damage settings etc.

- Allowing the PvE-style servers to have more Puppets on their server which behave different from the Puppets that you will find on the Normal-style servers. This would be very cool but only possible if they would go with the option to allow owers to switch their server to PvE-style. Even the mechs could have a complete different behaviour.

I see a lot of very good suggestions that would really fit into a PvE style server but it would only be possible if there would be a seperate server config otherwise the PvP elements will get mixed up into the PvE elements all the time. Also the the earning of Famepoints should be based more upon the survival aspect rather then the PvP aspect. Also mentioned earlier there should be other punishments then on a PvP server.

If its PVE then player damage should be 0.
Increase puppet population by a large amount.

Thats about it, would be great if he had NPCs that would roam around, stalk you or something.
Puppets are not much of a threat tbh

Allow pvp damage, but discourage pvp: how about no fame for killing. Fame only for surviving.

More Hardcore than vanilla server.
I play on this server https://nkx.co/gaming and sneaking around looting, it is pretty challenging.
boosted puppets/mechs/damage.
3-4 puppet hits and you die on that server.
Less loot.

More npcs with better/killer AI.
Bears should be a game-over threat.
Boars should be really nasty.
Wolves? A pack of wild/stray dogs would make sense and be a real threat.
Puppets should break doors (and we can barricade them). Spawn puppets indoors too?
Armed tec1 staffers. Especially when it's low loot, they would be the source of it!

You're already working on the medical/sickness and food/cooking mechanics. I think the current rate of getting hungry/energy/thirsty is good, but getting sick from wrong/bad foods should be a thing. Infections and dirty wounds should kill you after a while. People find ways to die in real life all the time without military loot pvp.

Some quest. Planning to make the tec1 bases populated? Why are the mechs there?

Some more random events like the airdrops. Airdrop contains mech. Maybe spawn a convoy of mechs travelling paths between bunkers, escorting a SUV full of loot.

Most of the things you have mentioned are already in the roadmap of the Developers and they probably are already working on some of them. It only takes a lot of effort and time to make something from scratch that works without problems. But to get back to the Topic.

I gree with the variaty in the Cargodrops but this should be possible for both PvP and PvE servers. They could make a option in the server settings where we can create our own Cargodrop cycle and also which type of Cargodrop has the highest chance of appearring. This would be a great and huge improvement and will definitly make the Players interested into the Game. But as I mentioned before I do not think that PvP is something that should be in PvE server because a PvE server is purely about surviveing the environment not other Players… Most people go into PvE cause of the PvP happening to them.

But I do agree completely that a PvE server should be able to set the difficulty of several NPC's and such above the standards..
goathens Aug 30, 2019 @ 8:29am
Oh yeah, I'm sure I am overlapping with some roadmaps, but reiterating which ones seem important to pve to me. And definitely a lot of the planned mechanics are great for a pve and a pvp server. In fact, I'd say that just about anything you added to a pve server would be desirable on a pvp server. Except of course blocking player damage in certain situations, that seems to be something you want and I don't (maybe I'm in the minority).

If you were the type to ban pvp damage entirely, then you'd also want to ban lockpick/base raiding?
thaki_marc Aug 30, 2019 @ 8:34am
Just disable player damage in server options and be done with it. Everything else will not work or potentially bring a whole bunch of problems that will require lots of dev ressources to fix. You are a small team, don't open up new construction sites until you are done with the current ones.
