TPS or FPS?
I feel like the game would be 10x if not 100x better if this was FPS instead of FPS/TPS combo. I appreciate the developers trying to counter act the advantages of TPS but imo it would just be better all together to completly remove third person. What do you guys think? FPS or TPS?

(Also i would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about what would be fun or interesting to be implemented into the game!)

First person is the best way to play these type of games and therefore, everyone is playing on the same level. Although, I wish I'd of had TPP before I walked around a corner in real life one day, before I got hit in the mouth with a quart beer bottle. Since it's not a reality in RL, it shouldn't be claimed as one in reality type games such as this one. TP takes the reality out of the game.

Thats why in SCUM you cant see around the corner/over the wall even if you are in 3rd person camera.

their solution is garbage. you can spot a player via quickpeak and then see for like 5 seconds what he is doing which still gives you a huge edge.

third person is garbage and no solution will fix it. and it doesnt belong in a game that aims to be realistic at all. fu ck bohemia for reinforcing this stupid trend.

That time has been adjusted and will most likely be adjusted again in closed beta. And if you are telling me that from quick peak(in RL) you cant say where people will be in next 1-2seconds then somethings wrong with you.

I just watched the second last blog and they said they dont like the idea of split servers. I hope they will still have them, because their solution is just a bandaid to the problem. now lets wait and see if they can deliver any meaningful gameplay in this first alpha.

is anything known about the game world? is it like chernarus?
I agree. This is really like a bandaid to a bullet wound.

From my understanding the higher skill for whatever this falls under will result in being able to see players for longer periods of time. I promise you almost everyone will at least have one friend who only levels up this skill just for that.

I agree with this aswell. Quick peeking will quickly become the meta for tps players. However if they made it where players had to look at other players for longer periods of time, say 2-3 seconds to grasp their position, that might create a better solution overall.

As a FPS gamer, I'm definitely not playing this if other players can play in third person mode. TP view provides too much of an advantage over FP view, no matter what weird "solutions" they come up with to reduce it.
I can't blame them, though. They have to cater to the console audience and can't afford remaining a niche game that won't be profitable.
I agree with this and your earlier comment. They should very easily be able to implement split servers but from what i heard in the blog they say this is lame. I understand they have their opinions as well but i feel that split servers would please the fanbase more than the solution to tps they have offered.

No way, I fing hate FPS, it makes the game so boring and most of the time you're just running around. Make it 3D person, at least I'll be able to see how cool my character looks. Hate FPS.
Can you please elaborate on how it makes it boring and how it has to do with running? Imo either perspective has the same amount of running? Thanks!

Personal Opionion...i love to play games in TPS and i like that i have TPS and i would not buy it if it didnt have it... there u go. BTW did you even see how 3rd person will work in this game?? characters will not render if your characted does not see them..so you will actually have to see the other people (witch brings you being visible to them) and than your memory takes over and they are outlined for short period of time..
I did see how the tps will work in this game but i honestly dont think that it will be a permanet solution. If you read my other posts you will see what i think of their idea. Anyway thanks for your opinion!

Why, check any warzone video, you dont just stick your head for 2-3sec around the corner to see if theres someone, you do it as fast as you can. I dont see how ingame representation of that is wrong.

And if you want to "track" them with "wall hack" it will take you few seconds to do that, you need to peek, spot the enemy, center him in your vision and focus.

I know that they attempted to fix the issue but if you think about it from both points of view there are still some issues. In third person your character has to see them to show up at all, if thats what im understanding, so that means they will just be invisible?? Players in third person just have to peek really fast and then hide again to literally see you through walls, fair right? If a player is in first person and is running and a player in third person sees them and hides what is the fps player going to do? I mean the tps can literally, again, see him through walls. It would, imo, be better to just take out tps. What do you think about their solution?
this plus in first person you can always have the chance of seeing the enemy
(or at least knowintg in which direction fire is comin from) right before dying. you dont get that in third person at all.

We plan to add the option that some servers (or the one you own) have the option to decide if they want to be 1pp or 3pp or both.

What I saw in the video was, a person behind a wall still being able to see around it, not just over it like you're thinking we are. That part of TPP seems to have been eliminated. However, the player can still zoom out and look around it without having to peek around it first. He can see them coming until they're almost there before he decides to take his shots.

OK, do this. IRL find a simulair wall if,you don't have one at home, go up to it, move around 3-4 feet in, from the end and maybe 4-5 feet away from it and tell me you can see around the end of that wall? And/or, over it, while crouching down.

The system we implemented works in way that it takes into account the vision range of the player. Items that your character does not see do not render. There is no peeking over walls or anything like that. And if he peeks around the corner and sees someone coming and goes back and waits for them to come closer. (Ill assume you talk about the awareness skill, if the skill is not maxed out the outline will disappear in really really short time).

I'm for TPS and FPS combo, what I'm also for is TPS only and FPS only servers.
