Block & Report Option's Scum In game Global Chat

Hi one for the Devs there's a lot of arguing, bickering, insulting, and much more nastiness etc happening in the in game global chat box (a lot of which if i repeated here would get me banned) and this seems to be totally unmoderated some of the people and their comments should (by rights) be banned from the game, due to some of the stuff that's being said in there.

so with that said can you's please add a "Block user & Report option" to the global chat box so we can get rid of some of these people?

although we can take screenshots and file a report not many people are not gonna jump out game and do that, people would be more inclined to report things if is there was a report option and use a block user option, to block further the nastiness in there which can only bring positive changes to Scum as a whole.

Chatting in a Public Area, (Not a Private Server where its Monitored/logged/reviewed) is risky..like chatting in a place called "The Dark Web" i have "Quit" playing of Scum's "Public Servers" due to this kind of toxic play...i suggest you do the same?(Probably when this game is "Stuck" IN Growth....as the Creeps/Trolls know they can do this ♥♥♥♥ with impunity?)

Never was forced to fill a report. Just write in chat a small reminder that some things are not ok and can lead to a game ban.

Welcome to the human condition. We (humans) are by nature, rather distasteful creatures.. especially when hidden behind the anonymity of the internet and not subject to any repercussions for actions.

Ultimately it would be nice to see some sort of language filter, and/or ignore feature for chat. But that may be far down the line from a priority perspective.

Maybe they just immersing them self in role they play in scum game, or trolling, or just love to use dirty words or to insult ppl or whatever? If I'm not mistaken there is some MUTE option around chat window. Don't be snowflake!! You or anyone else can not ban or censor anything you think it's "unacceptable". There is a mute all function on chat window.

Sometimes you may forget to 'unmute' though and suddenly find yourself in a situation you missed in global lol...

Take a screen shot including the names and file a report on the cheaters page. Include approximate times so Devs can easily search chat records. If it's a private server, I'd still report it, then just play somewhere else because probably nothing will be done about it anyway.

Also, the OP could use a bucket full of periods. Punctuation is part of writing. Without it, sentences aren't sentences. I couldn't get through the whole thing. Is it worth the time to stumble through the post to figure out where one sentence ends and another begins? I have no idea because my time is more valuable. You've got a decent point as far as the first/second paragraph goes. It would serve the point a little better if it was less time consuming to read.

The game is filled with violence, nuditiy, grieffing possibilities like taking hostages, torture them and such and you for some reason got triggered playing that game because some random people insult each other and argue?

As long as you're not a part of it why you even bother? Just ignore them and play your game, if you can't ignore it because for some reason it highly offensive for you that some random people arguing or insult each other over chat maybe you should reconsider your gaming genre preferences. This game target audience is rather 18+ and those people often say "sh*t" instead of poo-poo.

Also all that killing, stealing and such ( SCUM gameplay ) provoke emotions, it's rather normal and rather understandable ( atleast for me ). I've seen many people arguing, asking why guy A killed guy B when he was unarmed and such nonsense, but I never ever thought about being offended by that or felt offended by that. There are some racism here and there, some sexism and all that stuff people got highly offended nowaday like someone would slaughter their family, but after all it's harmless ( as long as you're an adult ).

But...
...if so many people got offended by other people insults and such ( most of those people are probably part of the problem since most people got offended during argues and insults are part of those argues ) there maybe could be some kind of temporary chat-ban. But I don't believe it's necessary really.

that's exactly why made this thread, cos that's the exact nature of thing's being said (and more), and exactly why i was asking something be done

it seem a lot of folk who have replied to this thread think "racist or homophobic abuse etc" is acceptable language and are trying to defend the use of such language/words

this is not America nor dose "American freedom of speech privileges" count outside the bubble of the Us you might get away with being racist in the Us but it's a criminal offence in many other parts of the world Including the Uk the internet dose not count as part of America too just remember this you have no immunity here

You’ve posed this argument in the past. It’s not the UK or any of those places where it may be illegal either. It’s a virtual universe where you have the choice to engage or not.

That said, I fundamentally agree on the OP. I see no reason you shouldn’t be able to block a particular player’s chat. However, reporting is a different matter entirely. I wouldn’t wish for the devs to be using any of their company resources on trying to police chat dialogue. It’s a fool’s errand.
