Is there a way to unlock everything in the game?
I love this game, but the one thing that annoys me is having to spend a ton of time grinding for items that I want. I want the ability to use whatever I want in a game. I know that there's a sandbox mode, but to use it to it's fullest you must grind to unlock items. Is there a way to unlock everything in the game?

You can check this out, it includes a file that unlocks everything:

I'm considering adding an "official" in-game means of just unlocking everything at the start for people who hate the unlocking process. Perhaps this would turn off achievements or something like that, or at the very least it wouldn't be possible to achieve all of them since many are tied to unlocking characters, levels, etc..

How would people feel about something like this?

Unlock everything, but not getting achievements?
Why not? I have everything, but I grinded the nuggets.
I speedrunning the objectives, until I unlocked everything. That's why I don't use range weapons or followers, because melee is more efficent.
I want help? It costs money, but I need it for the Upper upgrade. I sell most items, to get money, only to buy from the drug guys. It's not a bad way to play, but it's repetitive and it's now in my brain.
Doing these speedruns over and over, until I had everything. Now I have a very hard time changing it :(
I'm trying to use different routes, but I just see the lost money, that I need in the 5th floor. I just buy my victory...

In the end, I have no problem.

I feel like that's a great idea! Allowing people to full experience the game without the sometimes repetitive grind would be amazing. I'm fine with this mode not unlocking achievements, so long as we can turn it off. Thank you for your response!

I'm fine, in paradox game you don't unlock Achievement until you set Ironman mode that clearly force the players playing with the dev settings.

Not saying you need to add similar system, but at least the player should be informed that enabling X or Y setting will disable Z feature.

Maybe you would have the chance to find a non-unlocked item in a chest/safe, and if you completed a certain mission with it you would unlock it to use. For instance, you rob a bank, and inside the safe you find a Ressurection Shampoo. A little message would appear above your character's head (similar to the "Big Quest Updated!" one) that says "Item Quest Started!". The quest would be to be ressurected once by the shampoo, and if you did the quest, you would unlock the item. Honestly, you could do the same thing with traits, (A new trait appears in the trait selection menu (With gold text, to draw attention), use it's abilty, unlock it) and just remove chicken nuggets, at least until you found another use for them. You could still use the doctor/thief to remove items from the pools, just not to unlock new perks.

The down side of that is that it would make you completely reliant on the RNG to unlock stuff. If you were unlucky, you might never *find* Resurrection Shampoo during play to be able to unlock it. With the current system, you can also prioritize what items/traits you want to unlock first.

Unlocking through quests would probably also be slower than the current chicken nugget system. You can easily get enough nuggets in a single run to unlock multiple items of your choice.

Having to unlock traits that way might also force you to pick a trait that is useless or even a detriment for that particular game, potentially while simultaneously having to pass up on good choices.

It also just seems a bit wonky that you'd be waiting for an item to appear in the game in order to get the ability to...make that item appear in the game.

ngl that would be kinda sweet for people who have jobs/family and dont have the time to grind for all of them.
they can just enjoy the game.
