Ashes for Low spec pc's
I think many potential customers are a bit reluctant in buying the game cause they know it would not run well on a low specs pc. I'm having troubles with my average notebook since even the lowest settings do not allow me to play a fluid experience.

I'd like to ask to devs If they are planning to make the game more accessible in terms of lowest pc requirements , since not everyone has a very good pc.

I hope the game will be further optimized for running smoother. It would bring new customers and it would be a good advertising for the game itself.

What do you think ?

They have done a lot of optimizations for the game over the last year to try and make it playable for those with weaker hardware. At this point I doubt there are any major or easy gains to be had. Vulcan is coming though and that may help for those on Windows 7 still. But the GPU is still the stumbling block on weak systems I think, and unless you are on a modern laptop the laptop GPUs of the past were very weak.

I'm all for better optimizations but unless a Dev comes on here and says otherwise I wouldn't hold my breath at this point.

I understand that asking for that is not a priority for devs , but for the sake of higher sales it could have some return. In my case i own an asus N550JK with I7 processor and gtx 850m 4gb. Even if the notebook is capable of running the game , even at the lowest settings I notice a very laggy response in the ui and from the units in general, even at the beginning of the match. Maybe Ashes just needs more scalability

get a better machine for your hobby?

such toasters are slowing down the technical progress, even though it sounds rude.

Ahh reminds me of the days of Crysis, Supreme Commander and the DX10 beast, World in Conflict. I struggled through those with crappy hardware for years before actually having something to play them all smoothly when cranked up. This game appears to follow suit. And that's not a bad thing.

As others said they've made strides. This game really likes powerful GPUs and decent CPUs. My kids PCs can play it...one has an i3-4160, 8GB DDR3, and a GTX 770 2GB, the other is identical except has a GTX 1050 2GB. Both handle 1080 with medium-high settings. Mechanical hard drives mean looking load times but once in the game its pretty damn smooth.

Well let's take a look at min req, gtx 660 a 5 year old mainstream gpu.... 6gb of ram all gaming system today has 8gb of ram. 4 core cpu, did they realy ask for that much? I don't think so....

So if I take a look at your system gpu: 850m what I would call a low end gpu for what it can do today (dedicates gpu)... Sry to say it but if you bought that for gaming you did a mistake... I7 well you just comfirmed you are not tech savy, my guess you have no idea what even i7 means. When you want to post specs next time get the cpu name, i7 is not a cpu it's just means 4 or more cores which is hyperthreaded....

Your cpu is good enough, most likly would guess a 4700hq... Your gpu is just bad, it's simply bad... Well your gpu is well bellow the 660....

Also you have clearly no idea what you talk about ashes is last time I checked the most scaleble game in the world thx to nitrus... No onther game can scale well with any amount of cores as long as it's 4 (mabye 2 cores, but not the best experience) or more which today is mainstream.... and well if they demanded less well screw every that actaually have a mainstream pc... That means well a lot more limts in the game to amke sure bad pcs can run it

Bliss stop complaning about nonsense.....

Not every1 has a decent pc, I get that but don't drag every1 with you down by stopping development of good games by limiting them so an intel hd grapichs can run it -_-

Dear Luxlupus , or dear kid , cause I hope you are a kid since your way of typing and your behaviour, you have to know I'm 36 years old and I bought my first pc in 1987 .You probably weren't even born, I was used to install games on Ms-dos at the age of 6 years old. My father paid the equivalent of 3'000 euros more or less. Games were running on CGA graphics cards and sounds were just beep beep from my case. Later on I discovered the joy of internet with 56k modem , my parents were angry cause the phone was always busy. At the age of 14/15 I started assembling my first pc's , I did it many times for myself and for my friends. It isnt that hard you know ? Now I'm married and I have a daughter. My "gaming room" became her room and i was forced years ago to buy a Notebook . Even if I'm wealthy,I could afford any hardware I'd like , I didnt buy a gaming notebook cause you know with a kid it's a miracle to be able to play 30 mins per day. And I'm not complaining about anything. SO next time before trolling and being arrogant vs people you don't know , try to be kind and constructive. I hope you take this as a lesson , if not you can keep being the ignorant prick you are being now.

sadly as many others have pointed theres not much they can do, i know people look at call of duty or even metal gear 5 and say but my laptop can run that and it has beautiful graphics..ashes just not optimized..thats not really the case because in those games the gpu is working of what is currently on the screen..oppose to an rts like ashes..its everywhere the whole map..so a lot more things going on believe it or not..and even when people complain that its an i7 requirement instead of an i5 or i3 its because its a multicore ai..pretty competent compared to other games because its able to use more cpu power to process stuff..compared to before it was limited because most of old gen rts was around 2 cores or even 1.

I realy don't want to know your life story, and for me what you wrote sounded like complaning, the min requirments can be reached by a 5 year old gaming pc (mainstream not high end), that's not very high end...... you want thing that is just unrealstic to get from the game.... you sounded just like the typical consol pesant who want to play trippel A titels at 60fps 4k resolution at their ps4..., also My language sry, I'm a non native speaker that is at his phone i don't have a perfect language.... mabye I was a little bit rude (sry) but don't take everything personal...... yeah I'm a kid, 17 also wuold love to have that life story sounds so much better than mine..... we can start with bullying, exclusion.... it's not that fun to listen to other's life storry so mabye next time just keep your feelings out of the discusion

From what I've heard, this game is quite efficient at using hardware resources. It's not "optimization" you want, it's things getting cut out. What would you like the game not to do, so you can run it better?

That's a good point. Well , Starcraft II is what I call a very well optimized game. I can play with good details and never experience any lag even with a medium/low budget gpu like my 850m . Yes , I know starcraft is not comparable to ashes in terms of units/things happening at the same time , but what I dont understand in Ashes is that even at the very beginning of the game , it is already very "laggy" , probably because my gpu is at the minimum requirements. I'll start looking for a 1060 gpu notebook in order to play the game properly , I'm not refunding cause i want to support the devs. Have a good evening to everyone

A 1060 is a good choice.

starcraft 2 is actually not optimized for newer system at all, they are limted to 2 cores which creates a huge cpu bottlneck which makes i hard to stay above 60fps even on the best systems we have today on good and bad settings, it feels more optimized on a low end system since the bottlenck is less obvous. many old games suffer from this problem

well of course i mean OPTIMIZED for low/end pc's not OPTIMIZED to run in high end pc's . I played a lot of SUpreme Commander Forged alliance and it was even worse with 1 core only
