Build your own vehicles?
Okay, I'm trying to understand this, so if I get it wrong, please explain it to me... but as far as I can tell, you have to actually construct your own vehicles.

Why? How does that make sense at all?

You're supposed to be a soldier in the military. No soldier has to find or mine materials and then construct any vehicle they wish to use. The military is issued vehicles that are constructed by manufacturers and then delivered to the military. Soldiers might need to know how to repair vehicles and manage upkeep, but build from scratch? No, not at all.

And from what I've also read, you have to store (i.e. hide from other players) your vehicles and materials somewhere or they'll get stolen. Wow. That sounds like a great time. Spend hours finding materials and constructing something, then not have time to play because you spent all your recreational time building stuff, and then log in several days later to find that all of that work is gone because someone stole it.

As it stands right now, this game doesn't seem all that enjoyable to me, but maybe I'm completely missing something and if so, I'd like to know. So if someone can actually (politely) explain this to me, I'd appreciate it.

You've pretty well poisoned the well yourself and anyone trying to explain this to you is going to be arguing with a brick wall.

If that were true, why would I be legitimately looking for information? I'd like to know if my assumptions, based on what I've read, are true.

I'm interested in being part of an MMO-like ongoing war, not running around mining materials and building stuff just to see it get stolen.

Foxhole is designed to be entirely player-driven. Having vehicles just spawn would be a magic mechanic and there would be no real consequence to losing them.

You can privately stockpile 90% of stuff so you don't really need to hide anything - it won't last several days though so. Foxhole is a game you at least need to "check in" to every 24-36 hours or so, especially if you have stockpiles.

This is a brand new update to the game with a lot of additional content, so it'll take a while for the player base to understand this new meta, so don't take this current war as a reflection of the wars to come.

Plus, you don't have to do logi if you don't want to.

If you're looking for just a fighting experience, just stay on the frontlines. The great thing about Foxhole is you can play how you want.

Want to be a medic? Go ahead
Want to be in an artillery crew? Go ahead
Want to go behind enemy lines and wreak havoc? Go ahead
Want to just play as a good old foot soldier? Go right ahead

Some things you can't do on your own, like artillery and require you to have friends or join a clan to coordinate; overall though you can pretty much do whatever you want

Or do like me and park your artillery at the main road and stand on the side of it like a bum begging for help

It's a game.

Hmmm... okay, I was under the mistaken impression that you had to build stuff to do anything in the game. What you're describing is different and sounds fun. Thanks. :)

Yeah, you don't have to build anything if you don't want to. The logi bois in the back take care of that. But you will have to coordinate with other players if you want to run tanks, artillery, partisans, ect.
