Drinking tyrwine for guidance does not work
Upon drinking tyrwine (or whatever it is called), I am given a map marker in the form of a cyclon at some points on the map. The description says "The town is calling to me". However, when I get there, there is absolutely NOTHING of interest at that location. What gives?

I have tried this several times with different locations that the drink had given me.

The locations are outside I assume? If so, it's probably directing you to one of the hidden children's stashes. They can be kind of hard to spot. All I can recommend is look around more and try and figure out where it could be hidden.

All of the locations have been outside so far. As I have not been informed of the location of these stashes by the kids, am I free to take everything from the stashes or do I still have to respect the rules of 'The Game'?

NOTE: The twirly location disappears after about one in-game day. For this reason, I thought it was an event, not a stash location.

I honestly have no idea if the rules of the game are an actual thing gameplay wise or not, so can't help you there. And yeah, I think all twyrine markers disappear after a day.

I've never had there not be something at one of those spots. Even if it's just a box buried behind a bush with 4 fingernails in it.

Yeah, it points you in the direction of the stash, but some of them are still hidden and might require some searching in the marked area.

Can any of you confirm that the stash can be freely looted without following the rules of 'The Game' the children play?

The children's game is not fully understood. However, it is believed that there is only one direct outcome.

Whether or not robbing it every day changes what sort of loot is present is not clear.
